I love the concept, but I wish it had settings you could fiddle with, like Firefox reader view does. Because their default settings seem far more suitable for mobile devices than desktops, and the default font size and 55 characters per line is pretty uncomfortable to read on my ultra-wide monitor. But on the plus side, this site combined with Firefox reader view is awesome, since it gives the best of both worlds! :P

Valid criticism. Another issue is that it is not up-to-date. It would be awesome if it did.

I'm kind of surprised the firefox/chrome reader views don't do a better job of making wikipedia more readable, given that wikipedia is a very popular site.

The good news is, there are plugins out there that pretty much purport to do the same thing, and work with the latest wikipedia content....

On the charater count, 50-70 characters per line is generally considered optimal for reading[0]. Of course, it’s still quite a waste of space on a display of that size - dual column or a much larger font (or both) would both satisfy the character count constraint and use more space. But character count limit per line is not for mobile purposes
