What are Tags?

Sorry, stupid question but I just got here.

On some comments, I see colored tags right where the number of votes are. What are those, and how can I do that?

Edit: That was REALLY fast, thank you!

The mechanics documentation page has info on this. At the moment, comment tags are disabled until they’re implemented better. This was talked about in a daily Tildes discussion thread IIRC.

Those are comment tags, which are currently disabled until some technical changes are made so that they more accurately achieve their goal.

On the right by the votes? Those are the only groups available (no custom groups yet). Otherwise, I think tags can only be added to new topics? I'm not entirely sure, I'm new here too.

Since @DyebrewsWitch mentioned "colored tags", maybe she is talking about the currently disabled "user tags"? More information here:...

Don't worry too much about it, for me at least!

I guess I do not see those at all so I was thinking of something completely different?

Maybe you have only looked at comments that were written after the tags were disabled. Do you see the "Offtopic" tag on this comment?...

Ah, I do. I hadn't run into any of those yet (I joined today around 11AM CST). Thanks!
