This is the first time, in a long time, that I've felt "at home" online. I love that I can make honest posts here and not worry about coming back to an inbox filled with bile. I love that I don't have algorithms following me, gathering up every single behavioral breadcrumb I drop in hopes of selling that information about me. This is a wonderful, comfortable place to be, and I'm grateful for all of the people here who make it that way.

I find the small, closed community to be reassuring too, it's less likely that someone I know would recognize me here, while on reddit I've got quite a few people that could easily spot me if I'm not careful.
There's a few projects on the internet that are just... good, no strings attached. Wikipedia, Firefox and Tildes are in absolutely the same category to me. It's a model for how I want the internet...
