Personally, I haven't had much luck with bikes but I live in an oddly bike-unfriendly town. I hope in the future to get my own electric bike because I literally have never heard anyone say anything bad about them (in general, at least) and they seem delightful to ride.

I clicked the link thinking about how much I enjoy my electric bike and was pleased and surprised to learn that the author has the same bike as me (BESV). I probably don't ride it at much as I could, but the summer in Japan has been brutal this year (this morning it was 90°F/32°C at 9am) and I don't want to be outside, even with the "breeze" of a bike. It doesn't help that most places are easily accessible by (air-conditioned) trains, so I think my bike will hibernate under its cover until autumn begins.

Not Just Bikes, the Youtube channel, may be a good one to commiserate with. He focuses on urban planning and how stupid it usually is.
I watch every video he puts out and grumble about wanting to visit the Netherlands every time.
