Man, I'd love to do one of these programs. The Scottish ones and the one in the Japanese Northern Alps looked amazing. It was cool to see the Cold Paradise one offered artists to bring their families. We have a young baby, so I can't imagine I could just up and leave for 2 weeks but that one might be a real option.
Also, I love the concept of the New Mexico one where you participate in an exhibition after. 10/10 would want to participate.

I love these retreats. I have a friend who has done the one in New Mexico and it really helped kickstart her artistic career by giving her confidence that others loved her work. She is now regularly showing her art in exhibits, fairs, galleries, etc. and has thankfully managed to quit her previous job.
My neighbor has a rustic cabin (outhouse, tub on porch, etc.) on her property that I tried to convince her to advertise as an artistic retreat since we are on the edge of a national forest, and she needed to find a tenant to help survive (she’s 90 and relies on a bit of charity). Fortunately, she found a tenant without advertising it as such. If her current tenant leaves, I will share this article with her to show that it is not unheard of.
There's a beautiful artist residence cabin in Glacier NP as well!
