May both shows get a full 7-year run with minimal network interference. The world needs some good scifi.

Thanks for bumping this post, I missed it the other day. I'm seriously excited for the new season! Nobody else I know watches this show but everybody seems to think they know what it's about, usually including the phrase "fart jokes." As we all know, season 3 is when these sorts of shows grow their beards (or mustaches) and I'm optimistic that against all covid odds, The Orville will be no exception. It's been a long wait. This teaser gives me hope that it will have been worth it!

'Firestorm' from S1 was when it grew the beard and morphed from 'Family Guy does Trek ripoff' to 'better than anything since TNG' in my book. Modern Trek has abandoned any pretense at morality stories, while Orville is knocking them out of the park. Seth has gone on record saying he thinks that seven seasons is the sweet spot for a series, so I imagine we'll get that many from Orville as long as someone can afford that 7 million dollar per episode budget. I think Seth hoodwinked Fox and sold them 'Family Guy in space' just to get this show started.

Hot damn I'm excited about this, been waiting for the new season for at least a year (how many could it have been now?) and this looks awesome.
Airdate has been pushed back to June 2, on Hulu.
