I'm working my way through the first seven seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine, they still hold up.
I put this in last week's, but only slightly before this week's started so I moved it here on the off chance someone wanted to talk about Midnight Club.
I finished Mike Flanagan's The Midnight Club. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though I will admit that at this point, as a Fan-agan I probably do not bring as much of a critical eye to it as I mighty to other shows.
The general outline is that a bunch of teenagers are in hospice care for a variety of diseases. They sneak out of their rooms at midnight and tell scary stories to each other. These vignettes are interwoven with the story of the hospice they are in.
I thought all the kids that were cast did a great job, with a standout by Ruth Codd, who is so incredibly angry, and with good reason, but also sweet and scared. I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her it would be all right, which would of course be a lie to someone in palliative care like this.
The first episode was very jump-scare heavy, but also pretty fun. Once you pass that episode, it is a lot more resonable.
My only complaint was that Rahul Kohli was only in it for one episode. What the heck?
I binged the entire first season of The Dragon Prince on my flight yesterday. It's a solid show, and there was a lot I forgot. I'm going through the entire series hopefully before the next season drops in November. My only complaint is I always wind up rushing the show, I prefer to watch one or two episodes of a show a day at most to let it sit a bit. I remember going to season 2 and thinking "the animation feels smoother," but season 1 wasn't as jarring as I remembered it being, either.
not much to say, but if you haven't watched Gangs of London, do it now. The second series posted and it should be good.
Lower Decks is still better than it should be.
