I’ve been watching Gen V on Amazon.
For those unfamiliar, it’s a spin-off of The Boys. I liked The Boys well enough—it was entertaining when I was engaged and fine if I got up to wash dishes or something. Gen V is more or less still that for me. I think there are some fun modern takes happening and some interesting characters.
It definitely feels like The Boys, though. If you didn’t care for that, I don’t know that you’d enjoy this either.
the first episode of Gen V really sets the tone. I like it. They also had some animated shorts in the same universe that were decent. I hope they keep it interesting.
I just discovered Corner Gas, super soft Canadian comedy. High quality, low key hijinks anout a very small town in very rural saskatchewan. Pronounced suh SKACH wun.
lol as someone who grew up in SK, I think I pronounce it more like suh SKACH uh wun.
As your neighbour to the east, this is how we say it too lol
Does that make the way they pronounce it in the show a local joke I’m only half getting?
I grew up in the southern appalachians pronouncing it su SKACH e wahn.
I really enjoyed Corner Gas. Very low stakes and silly. It held my interest for many episodes.
The movie was excellent and such a fun experience. I wish you could have! I went to the set in 2010 and it was really neat but it's a small little set in the middle of nowhere (which was the plan). Letterkenny would be next on the list :)
Does anybody watch Countdown? I started with 8 out of 10 Cats does..., but quickly wanted more game and less goofing around... and I haven't missed an episode for months. I watch on the Channel 4 site, which is good enough.
The game is fun and wholesome. No flashy crap like American game shows. If you win, you win the ugliest teapot. Its perfect.
Some great shows on right now. Bosch: Legacy is getting good. Invincible is also back this week, which I've been looking forward to. I don't read a lot of comics, but I've been slowly reading that one. Its great and I'm excited to see where the show strays.
Just finished Gen V. I've hated it. The dialogue seems really forced most of the time, like Marie and Jordan being stressed as fuck with everything that is happening and pausing to say "see? we are a great couple" while everything goes down. Many of the scenes tries for some dramatic gravitas in a show where the characters do not take themselves serious enough for that. As a result, it feels forced.
The first episode of the second season of Invincible started off great, though.
