What If... is a bit of a mess this year, but I really like this concept and I especially like the animation style. It'll be great when they figure out how to draw a mouth speaking real words, too....

I was waiting for some laundry to dry before I went out for NYE and decided to watch a couple episodes of M*A*S*H. I've watched the series four or so times now and I can't get enough. If you decide to watch it, a few things to be aware of:

    • All HD transfers are cropped to death and ruin a lot of the gags
    • Make sure you get a rip (DVD) without the laugh track (this was CBS's doing -- the UK never had it and the DVDs have the option)

Anyway, excellent series that never fails. It also makes for a great standby series for those dark nights of the soul where nothing new is out.

Reacher started out as absolute trash this season. Campy bullshit like 'we need to get his password... he liked dogs... uh.... we have eight seconds.. oh! he liked REACHER! try that! ... WE'RE IN!' Even Lee Child should be rolling his eyes.

Truly awful -- but it has improved a bit as they've gone. Its a fun series that is still trashy but not trashy enough to spoil it.

Claudia Winkleman, who is the best, is hosting the second series of The Traitors. Its basically survivor in a mansion and its super wholesome and great. I binged the first season with ease. Absolutely hooked for no reason. I never watch these types of shows, but I think I'll watch the second series which starts tomorrow and runs every day until the 12th, then its back on the 17th until the 26th when it wraps.

Has anybody watched The Curse? I watched the first episode and I'm not sure I can handle it. I just need to know that the suffering pays off.

I started watching it on a whim and it hooked me almost immediately. The scenery (set in Wyoming) is beautiful. The show employs an impressive mixture of mundane and surreal events and imagery. The representations of family loyalty are captivating. It is bizarre and intriguing.

Fair warning, the first season asks more questions than it answers, so if you don't like cliffhangers, you may want to wait.

The thing it reminds me of most is a Netflix series called The OA. So the cross The OA with Longmire. I enjoyed that one as well, for similar reasons.

The biggest mistake I made was believing that if I cast a beautiful net, I'd catch only beautiful things.
    ~ The OA

Looks like Outer Range is up for a second season, so I'll have to decide about giving Bezos money for Ad-free prime when it comes out.

I feel a bit fed up of programmes like the Outer Range. They create this great world, give us good characters, and then dump this thing in the middle and we don't ever get any decent answers or resolution. I know some shows get hung up on "these are the rules, they can't be broken", but in shows like Outer Range we end up with "lol, anything goes, it's a mystery". I'm being a bit unfair because I only watched the first season.

It's a good show! I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not for me. See also "Lost" and "From".
