I have to say, I was glad to be wrong. I'm even more impressed that this upcoming season is the last. Seems like they knew the story they wanted to tell and are willing to let it die an honorable death. More shows need to do this.
Like Daychilde, I also dislike violence and gore, and haven't seen S2. I liked Season One because they had some really sparkling moments of humanity. And I thought the story has wrapped up enough...

I liked Season One because they had some really sparkling moments of humanity. And I thought the story has wrapped up enough that I didn't feel like there's any ground to cover for a season 2. When it was announced, I promised myself that I would put up with the gore if 2 things happen: (1) that there is a compelling reason for the protagonist to go back in, and (2) if the setting is another rich man's game with a completely unique premise around the games.
From what little I know it seems to be about more children's games, and the guy is going back in because he wants to work with cops to bring it all down?
You've mostly got it right. I won't spoil some of the finer details, but yes. He goes back because he is unable to spend any of his winnings from S1 as he is racked with guilt and clearly has...

There is a lot of humanity in Season 2. You'll connect very deeply with the characters.
We started S2 with a lot of uncertainty, but by the end of the last episode my wife and I were sitting bolt upright in bed, slapping the blanket and trying to shout quietly so we didn't wake the baby. It was INTENSE and they really make it impossible not to see what happens in S3.
I need to see season 2. I somehow got pulled into season 1, which..... this is a show I hate that I like because it is so violent and bloody. My empathy makes it very very hard for me to watch...

My empathy makes it very very hard for me to watch violence, blood, gore, pain. It causes me great difficulty. But the storytelling side of it was so damn compelling.
I've always thought it was hilarious - I've never been bothered by sex in media, which is railed against, while blood and gore are celebrated. For me, I wish it was the other way around. And while there are projects out there to de-sexify movies, which I roll my eyes at, I wish there were projects out there that would help me not have to put up with the blood and gore. heh.
(That's one reason that Andor was such a pleasure - on top of being just objectively good on basically every front, I didn't have to put up with all the blood and gore that I would normally have to with other media)
Season 3 already? That was quick, I haven't even seen season 2 yet 😆
I would wait for the season 3 release, season 2 was unfinished in my opinion, which is why 3 is coming out so fast.
Noted, thanks for the tip!
It came out if you were still interested!
Highly recommend!

Season 2 part 1
This is more like Season 2 part two
Don’t start the first part until this one is out, the cliffhanger isn’t pleasant 😅
