good timing to watch The Pitt -- new season is on January 18th.
I love The Chair Company and I am in full agreement with you.
I started to rewatch The Americans a couple weeks ago. It holds up well. Aside from a few moments, I really only remember what happened in the pilot (which is an all-timer imo) and finale, so most of it feels fresh. It definitely has a lot more sex than I remembered, so it can be a bit awkward at times because I'm watching it with my mom. The show ran from 2013-2018, so it got upstaged by big time shows like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and GoT, but I think it's good enough to be in the same tier as the latter two. At the very least, it's as good as early Walking Dead.
I got in the mood for it after watching The Beast in Me on Netflix. It was solid. Claire Danes goes full Claire Danes, which at times can feel like mid-90s Jim Carrey, only sad and terrified. Jonathan Banks goes full Jonathan Banks, and Matthew Rhys does a good job being a charismatic creepy guy. I won't implore the next generation to watch it 10 years from now, but it's servicable if you're looking for something decent to watch during the holidays.
Finally, I binged the first block of Stranger Things season five last weekend. Not to much to say about it. I've made it this far, so I gotta see it through. It's definitely not a chore or a hate watch, but it isn't season one, either.
The Americans finale was really good. I'll always remember the scene in the garage as one of the best performances on TV that I've seen
I've been watching Pluribus which started strong but the last few episodes have been a little slower.
I'm also rewatching the limited series Mrs Davis, which is what the first episode reminded me of. Damon Lindelof (Lost, The Leftovers, Watchmen show) is one of the co-creators. It's also another show like Pluribus that I recommend watching without knowing anything about it. I had seen it when it first aired and it's very underrated. It didn't get much attention, probably because it's on Peacock, but it's excellent.
Stanger Things 5: the first half of the last season is out. If one were a Reddit user, you might think that this season is terrible, but it's not. I'm not quite sure what's wrong with Reddit or why they are trying to shit on the show, but the show is pretty good so far. The mid season mini-finale has a 9.7 rating on IMDb, for example, and I think that's well earned.
IT: Welcome To Derry: also pretty great so far. It has some really horrific moments, moderate-to-good visual effects, and killer clowns are always creepy. Jovan Adepo has had some juicy roles over the last couple of years and I'm enjoying his success, and I enjoy seeing Peter Outerbridge who is great as the piece-of-shit sherrif, and always gives a great vibe in that sort of role.
