I’ve got a lot of thoughts about the Muppets. Under Jim Henson they really pushed the envelope of what was possible with puppets. They were edgy and hilarious, technically ambitious, and had an unmatched frenetic chaotic style. I know there have been a lot of really talented people at the studios in the years since he died, doing their best to keep Jim’s torch burning (with mixed results). The 2011 movie was a high point but there have been a lot of lows too. I hope that this is good, while expecting disappointment. I want the Muppets to succeed as an enterprise. Maybe not under Bob Iger’s Disney though.
