Jeopardy! Thread: Katie Couric and Dr. Oz
I didn’t make a post for Katie Couric. Discuss her here. I thought she was okay as a host. Ultimately not my cup of tea. However, I still prefer her over the next guest host (he started tonight), Dr. Oz. I’m not going to be watching him for the next two weeks in protest (okay, maybe one episode to see how he does). In any case, March Madness preempted it tonight. Did anyone catch tonight’s episode?
Dr Oz is a quack, but even if he was a good host, I'd watch --- but he's awful. He seems really aggressive. I'll give him another shot tonight, but I'm just not feeling it.
Couric was alright, but nothing comes close to Jennings. Mike Richards was pretty good, too, even though he's a more conventional game show host.
It's a shame they went with someone who they must know the Jeopardy community doesn't respect.
night two update: The way he speaks to people is creepy -- but he improved as a host after the first episode. He still sucks, but I might be able to live with it.
Overall, he isn't bad per-se, but the way he says that someone is wrong comes off a little harsh, but that can be said for all of the guest hosts besides Mike Richards.
Anthony Scaramucci could probably do a great Dr Oz impression if he ever finds his way to SNL :)
Having Dr. Oz, a well known quack and charlatan who peddles false medical cures, host a fact-based game show seems like an extremely stupid decision.
I definitely won’t be watching.
We'll just be watching Wheel of Fortune instead of Jeopardy, which I don't normally watch because they won't just show the damn puzzle the whole time. I don't need to watch people shout, "Big Money!" to play along, I need the puzzle.
I was not a fan of Ken going into his hosting, but he grew on me very quickly. Definitely the best of the bunch. I wasn't a fan of Couric and won't be watching Oz.
