A lot of Animal Collective songs give me goosebumps. I was washing dishes last night and got Fireworks stuck in my head and had to take a pause. I also relate to the feelings being suppressed as we get older. When it got stuck in my head I felt like I warped back to those years when they were blowing up on the festival scene and really felt nostalgic for that era.

I have a kendama and can land the ball on all three cups and the spike. I’ve practiced with both hands but am better with my right even though I’m left hand dominant. When I was actively using it I was working on going from various stalls to cups quickly but eventually put it on the shelf where it remains to this day. I have a small baby, a wife that came with all sorts fragile things, a cat, and two dogs so a solid wooden ball flying around the house doesn’t really work for me these days.

The key thing to remember with the footnotes is that they are from multiple sources or “narrators”.

The main narrator, Johnny Truant, is always in Times New Roman - read these

The editors - sort of important

References to movies/books/magazine articles, etc. - not as important for a first read through but interesting if you fall in love with the book. For example, there is a scene towards the end that is historical terror and claims to be from a book called “A briefe and true report of the new found land of Virginia (1588)” so I got the book and it isn’t in there. On the other hand, there are several chilling references to John Krakauer’s “Into Thin Air” that all check out. I got a copy of that book and it’s an incredibly good read and now one of my favorites.

Chopper is the best droid in SW easily. Good to see another Rebels fan out here, it’s my favorite SW content, personally.

Oh no! I guess them being employee owned means they voted for this? Curious to know how it went down, I’ve always thought Moog would be a great place to work.

Such a good movie! In the same category (animated) I feel like anyone that sees Akira likes it but acknowledge that it’s probably too niche to be loved by “everyone”.

The Brother’s Karamazov did the opposite for me at first but I’d say I’m far less of a militant atheist now thanks to Alan Watts. The Brother’s Karamazov is my favorite classic, easily

This is my answer as well. House of Leaves changed what a book could be for me and literally fractured my mind. I’ve read it several times now and it keeps getting better. It’s terrifying, romantic, funny, and extremely rough around the edges, but I love it. My most recent reading I tried to focus on following the references and actually bought some books only to find something other than what I was looking for.

Coincidentally, I’m going to the post office today to mail a copy to a friend of mine that I think will enjoy it. I don’t know if I’m going to put from Z or Johnny Truant yet…
