I love the concept of framework, my desktop is a Theseus's ship of parts from the past 15ish years, I'd love to be able to do that with a laptop. I'm just hesitant to drop 2k$ on a laptop that's only recently out of development (and who's biggest proponent is a major investor...)
I've also heard mixed things about their build quality. One thing I appreciate about my Acer Predator is that it doubles as a weapon if needed :p

Eg0 Are frameworks actually a competitive choice? I looked into them a year or so ago and it seemed like you where paying a pretty hefty early adopters fee considering the specs you where getting. Are frameworks actually a competitive choice? I've been enjoying reading older sci-fi lately because it doesn't feel like a rehash of star wars, star trek, or doctor who. (all of which I love, I just wish we could branch out a bit more with other works.)

She had mentioned alexandrite, and I found a small Etsy seller who set me up with a simple silver band with a lab grown alexandrite bar and obsidian gemstones. I them made plans with her to have a nice sunrise photoshoot one Saturday morning.
Being that I'm not a morning person, I suppose my proposal plan was quite obvious.
That Friday night, she proposed to me with a tungsten carbide ring, also from Etsy.

I picked it up at a used book store a few weeks ago, and so far it's been a worthwhile read.
As someone who turns their old devices int IoT devices, I definitely appreciate the sentiment behind that design decision.
