I worked on a small site way back then. Didn't made a lot, but site kept itself afloat with literally 0 SEO as we had no idea what we were doing.

Also, apparently forums still exist. But they're a shell of their former selves.

We really, really need some place to ask around niche tech questions; not serious sites like SO/SE tho.

I don't think the user base is large enough to support such -small- group features. I suggest going to the old Reddit approach where we have default ~'s and users can opt in the other groups as well.

Speaking of other groups, we shouldn't open thousands of them. Again, the user base isn't huge and that'd make finding groups harder for end user. Instead, we could have weekly(?) polls or something similar to that nature to open groups.

Top posts in specific groups probably should appear on the front page for everyone as well. This is necessary for increasing discoverability; as we don't have mechanisms to suggest subs to people based on their behavior.

Scrollbars are useful for looking at where you are on the page. Even a thin line suffices.

It's extremely easy to tell if a chip is monolithic or chiplet design (which must have an IO die) just by looking at it.

If there's only one bump in the middle, it's monolithic and won't consume a lot of power on idle; if there are two or more bumps, it's a chiplet and will consume power.

You don't have to check motherboard support for this, they'll all work exactly the same.

You probably should go for G skew. But definitely check if the processor you're gonna buy has an integrated IO die like the other comment said. My R5 3600 burns anywhere between 25-35 completely on idle with cores taking 3-5W total, the rest is IO die.

Technically speaking, you could undervolt it really hard and get it down to ~15W I believe, but definitely not worth the effort.

My idea is, it's easier to show the outage to explain low usage on 12th-14th to investors later this year. Saying "yeah our users launched a massive protest that effected 2 BILLION (not unique) accounts" is much harder than "yeah we had an outage."

It's no secret that Reddit is planning to become publicly traded. And publicly traded companies do everything in their power to cover-up their fuckups.

    The answer is: depends.

If you're after performance and visuals alone, ROG Ally. Ally also has the added benefit of being able to run Linux hostile games like Valorant (although I don't think it'd play well on Ally, but you could).

If you're after a polished, console like experience and don't really care about games like the one mentioned above not working; Deck. It'll also act better as a controller due to it's addition of touchpads and whatnot.

Personally, I'd go with Deck. That's because I don't trust Asus with software, which determines the entire experience you'll get. Also, I really like Linux and would love if Microsoft had a real compatitor on the market again.
