    I really enjoy Connie Willis, especially her Oxford Time Travel Series (which includes Doomsday Book, To Say Nothing of the Dog, as well as Blackout and All Clear). In case anyone wasn't aware, she's writing a new one in this series called The Spanner in the Works that is supposed to release next year!
