When I got approved for a CPAP machine in early 2023 the people at the medical equipment place steered me away from Philips. It seemed like a “we see the writing on the wall” kind of situation…they didn’t think the future for Philips was too bright even then.

I’ve been using a ResMed machine and it’s been incredibly easy to use and keep clean. I used to chuckle when people would say that their CPAP machine “changed their life”…but it’s no exaggeration. A stupid fan in a little box that blows air into my face has become absolutely essential to my existence as a functioning human being.

I’m in my mid 40’s and I keep seeing ADHD memes and discussions that I really relate to. I’m currently in that same stage of putting off diagnosis because it’s either too many hoops to jump through or I tell myself that I’m just subconsciously latching onto an internet trend. But I know that’s it’s really because, like the autism spectrum, a lot more is known about it today than when I was a kid so people share their experiences more freely.

Is that self assessment thing something local to you? Because that sounds like a path I might need to pursue.

I agree about the main cast. Especially the guy who played Jet, he was absolutely spot on.

I started using Fextralife for Dark Souls 3 after trying a few other wikis and not having great experiences. Fextra’s DS3 wiki was really accurate and comprehensive, so it was a great addition to the game for me. I also use a Ublock Origin, so I’m not seeing a lot of ads there…which seems to be a main complaint?

As a kid in the 80’s I used to get up super early on Saturdays to catch the cartoons. I’d always make sure to tape Pee-Wee’s Playhouse for my siblings, who were teenagers at the time and thus tended to sleep in. Being so much older than me, my siblings and I never had a lot of crossover in our interests. Pee-Wee was always one thing we could all agree on, though. So I’d watch Playhouse at least twice every Saturday…once on my own and then again with my brother and sister. Great times.

I was a weird kid and Pee-Wee not only showed that being weird was okay, but that it could be celebrated. Thanks for that, Paul Reubens.

My wife and I have been experiencing the same issues with Amazon this year. Sometimes the shipping estimate changes right after we make a purchase. On a few occasions we’ve had to cancel a purchase because it was something time sensitive. Other times the estimated delivery seems fine, but it later gets pushed out like you said. I may consider reporting it myself.

Vampire Survivors is one of those games that I only dip into once or twice a year and lose my entire sense of time for a few days. When I literally start seeing pixelated gems behind my closed eyelids I know it’s time to tear myself away from it. This nice documentary is like the sirens calling me back to wreck myself upon the digital rocks once again. Anybody else go on a Vampire Survivors bender lately?

One of my all-time favorites was Mission to Zyxx. It’s technically a sci-fi themed improv comedy podcast, but while it’s largely episodic the things they come up with usually become canon and they have to stick them in future episodes. They start with general story beats for an episode and then edit the session to make a satisfying story. Each season has a story arc and everything eventually led to an epic finale.

The highlight of the series to me was the sound design. Careful use of sound effects in a 3D sound space really made for an immersive experience, especially with headphones. The music was great too, and after a year or two they eventually had an actual orchestra playing it.

Also, it was just plain hilarious.

As the other commenter said, it definitely does retain some of the gameplay feel of 2016’s Doom, but to me it felt like something that served up both that old school feeling and the new at the same time. Maybe it’s the level design that feels late-90’s to me, I don’t know. The visual aesthetic probably goes a long way towards conveying that feeling I guess.

    Anyway, I enjoyed it!

Prodeus might be along the lines of what you're looking for. Feels like a 90's shooter with some occasional modern sensibilities. Plus, it's on GamePass, if you have that. Here's a short review.
