I think there are always push backs when society is growing and changing. We see them as counter culture type movements which always lead to regressive tactics by the current culture that doesn't want to grow and change. This is always the case with oppressive hierarchies it seems and usually leads to fascist, populist movements who are lead by a charismatic leader that has all the "answers" and gives them someone to blame and hate.

I guess I am failing to see how people wanting to voluntarily not reproduce and die off has anything to do with you or anyone in this thread thus my opinion that ya'll need to calm down and go touch some grass. The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement isn't about forcing anyone to do anything, more discussion about how shit sucks and from a pessimist standpoint "humans are dogshit".

Everyone here calling this fascism or calling it "pure hate" is just plain asinine to me. You do you though, and I'll stay childless and peace out when the time comes, sorry to "force" my fascism and hate on ya'll.

I do always enjoy how mad people get at this movement. It seems to just rustle the collective "jimmies" of all non pessimists. I find pessimistic philosophy a fascinating study mostly due to the fact that they acknowledge that people don't like to think about these things or will actively challenge the philosophy because of some deep seated need to prove them wrong.

Product of their environment or not, they still bullied someone both physically and mentally to the point of suicide. Letting them off with a stern talking to won't do shit for them. Nex is dead and they were culpable in that, and they should have to take time to think about what they did, whether that be in prison or some other form of rehabilitation.

This type of reply really does nothing for a discussion. It's similar to telling someone they cannot be critical of capitalism due to buying things and existing in capitalism. Someone wanting to boycott one corporation due to current scandals and reasons is perfectly fine and they don't need to shrug and give up just because someone tells them "well you better hate every company that ever existed!".

Wouldn't the "base" not turning out to vote be an indicator that their political party has failed them with candidates? Why is it always the "lazy" voters that are the ones that caused the party candidate to lose? You see this with centrist left and the Democrat party more than the Republican side. "Hillary didn't win in what should of been a slam dunk against trump? Must be those pesky lazy voters that just didn't make it out there!"

Maybe what is considered centrist left and what candidates the Democrat party throws at the "base" is just more of the same loser centrist bullshit that gets us nowhere as a country? Hell, Biden only one because he was running against a literal fascist, though I doubt it will be a sure thing this time, sadly.

What else can they do when the US outspends most other countries on military might and acts as a playground bully? Sure they could fire on a warship and start an international incident or even possibly a full out war against the US, but that sounds incredibly stupid as the US has most of the western nations as military allies and would just lead to another possible 10+ year unwinnable ground war that the US is so found of.

I've been jumping between remastered Dead Space and Snow Runner. Dead Space is just a great horror shooter in space with 70's Alien/Sci Fi vibes to the in game universe. Snow Runner is just a relaxing offroading vehicle game where you drive around in all types of 2x4 and 4x4 vehicles and do "missions" that may involve finding lost or stuck equipment/vehicles to checking on water pumps in a swamp, a the while you risk getting your vehicle bogged down or stuck in nasty quagmire.

As Carlin said, "garbage in, garbage out". We get what we deserve as a society. The US has spent half a century or more slowly eroding and dismantling all social and educational programs that helped us grown and better ourselves. We are now living in the republican dream/hellscape that Ronald Reagan and other authoritarians envisioned and people like Trump will never truly be held accountable.

If Donald does go to prison it will be a sacrificial lamb to appease the public and will allow business as usual to continue in the public and private sector.
