I saw them live back in 2014 when I was still living in Florida. Ended up chilling with them after the show which led to me making a custom fuzz pedal for their singer. -

https://www.earwolf.com/episode/u-springin-springsteen-on-my-bean-born-to-run/Its Scott Aukerman (from comedy bang bang) and Adam Scott (from Parks and Rec, Severance), covering the Bruce Springsteen discography in a very comedic fashion. They also have done seasons of this show covering U2, R.E.M, and the Talking Heads. It's a very funny podcast, but also entertaining to listen to if you genuinely love those bands.

I'm about halfway through with my first listen now but am pretty immediately digging it more than Frankenstein. Love that this album really utilizes Bryan's drumming much more than the last one.

After about 700 pages, I don't think I could really explain or summarize most of what I have read, and I'm not sure I would feel comfortable describing the parts that were clear to me in a public forum, lol. For real, there are parts in the book that are very profound, but there's also sections that have some of the most disgusting things I have ever read. I both highly recommend reading this book, and just as highly recommend never ever reading this book. If you have ever watched the episode of South Park where the boys write The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs, I would say that book is probably the closest thing out there to Gravity's Rainbow. I think I kind of get what is going on with the S-gerat, the cause and effect stuff with Slothrop, and I'm following along with the whole immipolex-g plot. Other than that it has mostly just been a haze of confusion and absurdity for me. If anyone has read this book and has any tips to keep in mind for the ending, or can provide any clarity for the sections I have covered so far, I would totally appreciate it! -

Staircase-Wit Portishead is my jam! Their album Dummy has been in my rotation for decades, but really all of their stuff is pretty great. It's a vibe for sure, and one that has, imo, never quite been immitated.Portishead is my jam! Their album Dummy has been in my rotation for decades, but really all of their stuff is pretty great. Been listening to a ton of Jazz this week. Bitches Brew, A Love Supreme, and The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady are some of my favorite jazz albums of all time. Aside from that, I have been revisiting some music from my youth. Stuff like mewithoutYou, the Chariot, and that first Norma Jean record, it's good to revisit some of that more rowdy stuff from time to time haha. Deftones made it on to my list, I am working on a cover of their cover of the song Simple Man, hah. So I have had that one on repeat for a few days.
A lot of great material in here. From the childhood neglect perspective, I'd highly recommend Complex PTSD From Surviving to Thriving. That book has helped me immensely in understanding my own emotional responses.
