Here is what they had to give in response to a subpoena : https://signal.org/bigbrother/eastern-virginia-grand-jury/
So frankly, a dissident in a dictatorship is way better off using signal rather than meeting up in person to coordinate constantly.

My G400s is 5+ years old and is designed in such a way that whenever the cord starts to fail(because I treat it poorly) I can get a new one for <10€ and swap it out in about ten minutes. Bam, another year or two of life. Yay for avoiding planned obsolescence.

The catch is that if the user forgets their password, they are boned and lose access to all data that was encrypted with the password. If the service provider has the ability to reset the password for the user while still giving access to old messages, that means it can be reset for anyone else too and the system is insecure.
There's always a tradeoff between convenience and security and considering facebook has the least technologically literate userbase of quite possibly any service, they'll never stray from the convenience side of the equation.

Tang_Un I'm not sure how they expect to make this work with messenger. People expect to find all their messages on any device they log onto, but that just doesn't work with e2e encryption.Mr. Zuckerberg has also ordered all of the apps to incorporate end-to-end encryption

They can just pass a resolution to continue funding, Trump can veto it, and Congress can override the veto as long as there aren't any poison pll riders in the bill.
Obviously this cannot be right since we're looking at a shutdown. What am I missing here ?

There are no save points throughout the whole section and the controls are extremely finicky. I wouldn't know what the ending looks like without youtube and cheats.
Not only that, we still haven't got a way to store significant amounts of electricity, which means that we need fossil fuel plants for when power requirements are high and there's no wind. Germany went whole hog on renewables and the reults are pretty bleak. They wind up burning loads of coal to deal with the irregular supply of renewables and their CO2/kWh ratio is pitiful compared to France, whose power is something like 70% nuclear.
