Messages are not E2E encrypted as a result of this update. Only audio and video are. Seems like a straight-up good move to me.

Safety is intertwined with our product and policies. While audio and video will be end-to-end encrypted, messages on Discord will continue to follow our content moderation approach and are not end-to-end encrypted.

Is it noteworthy that this funding went to them instead of Amtrak, especially given that this line and the planned CA high speed rail could (maybe?) reasonably connect?

That's the thing though, isn't it? They can't possibly be well-versed in everything. I imagine they rely on experts, and I can see the faults in that but I also don't really see a better solution.

I'm playing through Elden Ring for the first time with a friend who is relatively new to gaming. It's been a bit of a challenge (I've played all of the Souls games co-op), but they've been doing surprisingly well. It's really built their sense of confidence and even instilled a sense of needing to try to win every fight, since they're (mostly) very fair and it's quite clear what went wrong when one loses.

Elden Ring really just feels amazing. It's such a big world that just keeps getting bigger while feeling true to the series despite fairly large changes (crafting, maps, etc.) Glad you're enjoying it as well :)

Normally, I like Solarized Dark... but here, I'm actually liking Atom One Dark. I dunno if it's a Solarized thing, or if the theme is just not very well implemented, but it's tough to read here.
