World of Warships - I like the slower pace, though with new ships coming out so quickly it can be tough to keep up with all of variants and details about how to react to each one's abilities. I love that I can choose the ship level instead of being required to play at whatever "player level" I end up at. Not being able to play more casually at a lower rank is why I ditched LoL. Once I ended up about lvl 20 there, everyone started taking things so very seriously. One little mistake and you were in for twenty minutes of bitching by idiots that I don't care about. WoWs has some of that feeling at times, but it's pretty isolated if you play at a lower tier ship.

Paper.io - for when I'm stuck in a meeting or want total brain dead activity to keep me zoning out. Every so often I take it seriously enough to win a map, but usually I'm just dorking around.

Cars are a significant contributor. Low roofs, with no place to put the hat while you drive. They become a burden. Since we now spend much more time indoors there's no real need for a hat at home or at the places we spend relaxation time. There's plenty of jobs that require or encourage hats, but when considering fashion wear, it's basically a pain to get them in & out of vehicles, drive with them, and keep them with us as we travel.

This is exactly the reason people have invented better voting systems than the poorly engineered one that we use here in most of the US. Our first past the post system rewards and reinforces a "vote for the lesser evil" two party system. We should have a better system such as STAR or RCV voting where you do some form of ranking the options. That way you get to express how much you like a candidate, party, or option on the ballot, not just pick the one that you think will hurt you the least.

The home desktop is an Intel NUC i7, 16GB RAM, and an M.3 drive. It's using a USB-C adapter to connect to two 24" 1920x1080 screens. Basic dell USB keyboard and mouse with a Dell sound bar and a Logitech camera on top. It runs Linux Mint, whatever's latest these days.

I don't do a lot of gaming anymore (life got in the way), so the video/GPU doesn't matter much. It does coding, virtual machines, networking, running services as needed. I've been really happy with the setup overall.

It's also often shown from the perspective of people's thoughts and reflections. The times where aspects of the spice, space travel, future prediction, and insights move the world building and plot forward are all tough to translate to film.

Every film and miniseries has had some very nice aspects, but nothing as been a comprehensive re-telling so far.
