It's super easy to just tell my house nebulously to set a timer for X minutes or remind me to do something in Y hours, especially when I'm busy with something messy (cooking, wrenching on something in the garage, etc) and don't want to touch my phone.
But I wouldn't say it does all the things I wish it would do; for example, I want to be able to voice control my extensive smart home setup. I did integrate Home Assistant with Google, and it pulled in a lot of things but everything was just disorganized and useless in the google app. I could spend a few hours categorizing and placing everything into rooms in the google app and then I'd unlock the ability to control my smart home things... but I don't want to do that, I already did that in HA.
I have used Alexa in the past and I find its flexibility intriguing but never got into writing my own things for it. I also have tried Siri on my macbook but I never really need to ask her for anything except the odd timer if I'm not near a google spy puck.

bustin I initially started with OneNote because I had a (gen 1, original) surface pro and could use the pen to write notes in school... and I actually really like it. I still use it today over a decade later. I have been working on one big notebook to plan out and store information regarding trips and vacations I want to take in the near/long term future.
My note taking at work is more like .txt files and sticky notes, with a lot of pen and paper for things that I don't copy/paste. Lots of dev notes and copy pasteable commands and code snippets related to whatever I'm working on, or whatever I will have to touch again at some unknown point in the future long after I forget how.

In the early days of reddit he was involved in some highly questionable stuff, a few years ago was making questionable decisions, and clearly still to this day he's more concerned with making fat stacks of investor and AI company cash off the backs of the site's userbase.
Also he seems like a complete nut.

Comment on What does your self-hosted server setup look like? in ~comp
bustin I guess I'll be the first to rep Unraid! My only server, currently, is a custom Unraid box - honestly a great homelabber OS, imo, with a great community behind it. Also I'm a software guy by day...I guess I'll be the first to rep Unraid!
My only server, currently, is a custom Unraid box - honestly a great homelabber OS, imo, with a great community behind it. Also I'm a software guy by day and I don't really want to have to learn enterprise-level complexity to get something up and running at home, which was my first mistake when I got into selfhosting.
I've got dozens of containers running, split into a few logical groups or application/docker-compose stacks. Network stuff (TPLink Omada controller, DDNS updaters), dependency stuff (databases, etc), a bunch of custom web projects big and small, a few FOSS web apps... and then the usual suspects. Media stack (radarr, sonarr, Jellyfin), cloud storage stack (Seafile), youtube clone stack (MediaCMS), and a huge smart home stack based on Home Assitant that grows in complexity every month.
I have a few general purpose VM's as well but I actually don't think any are running right now. I have one Windows VM to host servers for old windows games when needed, e.g. Halo.

I'm excited to join and start some discussions about a bunch of stuff!
I also selfhost Bitwarden/Vaultwarden on my Unraid server. I usually leave it turned off unless I need to sync up a new password, too.
