Those, and many others, are bouncing around my brain, getting notes and research and thought experiment.
Another thing is, the "business model" because I don't have budget to run a service that could have (eventually) millions of users.
And then business structure. Likely have to make an NFP, and get a diverse board early for credibility.
Lots of hard problems. Should be fun.

The system needs to be designed to limit itself to operate on the human scale and start off from the beginning with these principles. What did early/small communities look like? Folk new other folk and could vouch. EG: Is @bwerf an OK human? @artvandlay says they are. And of course with that model we'd still need to have some cryptography and signatures and stuff.

That's is: the best students brought their own problems they wanted code to solve. It was a problem of motivation rather than tools or educational materials.
I do think LLM can be a good teacher.. if this is a hobby-project you're on a good track. If you want to build a business you'll need some primary research on customer-problem fit. LLMs cannot do that.

It helps entrepreneur get through the first hurdle: raise money or build on own. Low pressure group as well since you interact with first time investors too. Known to steer folk away from turning a hobby into a "business'. Fun should be fun.

Many (most) of the systems are not implemented well.
The minimum balance "feature" means that many occasional parkers will have to "top up" $10 to buy $4 in parking and getting the $6 back costs more than $6 effort for the consumer. Across N consumers means the company steals that money.
One great example is how Daley sold out Chicago parkers to private capital who now gouge both the citizens and government in their rent seeking efforts.
It's not that it can't be done well - it's that private capital doesn't want it to be done well. Putting citizens first means putting profits second or third. You mentioned a lot of ideals, that could work if they were all implemented. In the real world it's not done that way. There aren't additional policies. The money isn't channeled to related programs.

I'll pile on to this comment, as someone who's advised 100s of early-stage business operators. If you commit to building a huge company, then you'll become nearly obligated to operate in the maximise-revenue mode. Taking outside money (Angel, VC) is one step that puts you on this path. If however, you start with a plan to build a "tidy" business -- not a household name, not an IPO -- then chances of being able to learn to operate the business, and grow (at reasonable rates) and operate a small but profitable business -- those smaller operations are able to continue to operate in-line with the original dreams and ethics that were in play when the company was founded. Assuming the business makes it that far (starting a business is roughly a 95% fail rate).
Many, many, folks I've worked with over the years have expressed regret at taking the outside-money; or bringing the high-growth CEO to replace the founders (with the assumption the founders can focus on the core-value and the CEO will just "manage"). I've never seen it work a different way (n>2000). Once you join the "rat-race" you have to keep running.
I'm not saying don't ever take outside money -- I'm saying one needs to put very diligent guards in place -- perhaps even putting folks in adversarial roles -- to keep the true "heart" of the business.

Lots of personality I follow have some AP , as well as Twitter, etc - but this protocol was designed so users have control. You can follow w/o being on their server. It's like a fancier RSS.
The only other protocol based one appears to be BlueSky. IMO they should have built on AP.
Distributed/Federated applications have more applications than just social.

I'd like it to become something widely used. I don't like many of the methods today and really don't like government enforcing online identity. We should be able to prove we are human, without needing to specify which human.
