AI will only benefit the lazy and the billionaires. Everyone else will be harmed in some way.

I don’t know what he had in mind with that movie, but it clearly wasn’t “viewer satisfaction “.

Whereas my MacBook, running macOS, I can sleep it for a few seconds or a few days, as many times as I want to, and it instantly comes back completely solid with no issues at all, every single time.

The one thing that has helped me is, to not acknowledge that I'm starting the whole process, I'm not going to necessarily clean all of the blinds in my place, I'm just going to start and go for a few minutes. I just have to start.
And if I just start, like I'm just going to do it for a few minutes - then I'll always keep going until I'm finished. I just need to do the first thing or the first few minutes of the thing and the momentum carries me through the whole thing.
It really only takes like a second of willpower.

It's basically "this is as close as you can get to experiencing an hour of combat without actually being there".
I rate it 10/10. It can't really be compared to other war movies, it's in another category. I don't think I'll watch it again. It should be seen in a theatre.

Very good tv show. Amazing as a technical achievement. I don't know how they got some of the shots. At one point a kid jumps out of an open window and runs away and the camera seamlessly follows him through the closed window next to it.
If I had to summarize the show it would be: holy shit I am glad that social media wasn't around when I was a kid.

At this point, I would bet that the US will not hold another free election.
Until, years from now, there’s some sort of armed insurrection and US Emperor Barron Trump is overthrown.

It's some sort of persistent connection to verizon.com that ended up on your phone. You visited some site that has a tracking/marketing agreement to use verizon tracking cookies, and something got out of control in some way. Just clear all browsing history and reboot the phone.
Use an adblocker, don't install any sketchy apps, don't say anything nasty about a dictator, and it's extremely unlikely that you'll get hacked.

Similar to Tenet, at one point I wanted to figure it all out, I was ready for multiple rewatches and taking notes and reading forums, and then I just let it all go and moved on. No regrets.
I don't think a movie needs to spoon feed everything, but I also think some movies go a bit overboard on the confuse-o-meter.

But the CAPTCHAs that have a big picture of a bicycle, and it says "select all squares that contain part of a bicycle" and there's one square with a tiny little piece of a wheel in it, and I'm not sure if should click on that square,
I have trouble getting past those ones, I usually just bail and go to duckduckgo.
I'm editing my post 1 day and 3 hours later.
I admit I skimmed the article yesterday, and didn't really absorb what it was trying to say. Today I watched the linked YouTube video and I have a clearer understanding.
Essentially - CAPTCHAs are no longer about preventing bots. CAPTCHAs are all about collecting data and identifying users. To do the google CAPTCHA thing, is to willingly participate in data collection.
I'm going to quit using google, and instead use duckduckgo and startpage.com.

Now, one gram of weed comes in a solid plastic container that won't get recycled. Mountains of plastic into the landfill each year.
It's a drop in an ocean of global plastic waste, but still, it sort of goes against the whole weed culture ethos.

Get a sonicare toothbrush, buy some decent toothpaste, and floss every day or two. Buy some floss-picks if you don't like using the stringy floss. Take a few minutes to watch a YouTube video on proper sonicare operation, and proper flossing technique.
Your 50 year old mouth (and wallet) will thank you.

It got me to clearly see the time I was wasting and the damage that I was doing by reading the news. I now have a lot more time, my Internet usage is much more focused and necessary, I’m happier overall and sleeping better etc. Honestly a life changing book.

I'd like to see Nolan make a horror movie. Like Kubrick did with The Shining. Something unexpected and out of left field for him, something unique and smart and subtle. A serial killer fungus or a malfunctioning time machine.

It's gross, to wish for the destruction of millions of lives so billionaires can make more money, but at least I can understand the reasoning behind it, I think that would be the only reason to vote for Trump that I can make any sense of.
aren't we all just meat-based LLMs 98% of the time?
I'm usually on autopilot in a conversation,
and even when I stop to really think about an answer, where does the answer come from, isn't it just a result that pops up from below, based on analogy and pattern matching?
our software runs inside meat instead of silicon.
