Can people just not be weird? A huge portion of people would love tabletop RPGs if they tried them, but never will because of people like this keeping the old creepy nerd stereotypes alive.

This was the first episode of Black Mirror I watched, so I came in completely unprepared. It hurt particularly bad because I was going through a really messy breakup around that time, so this episode was something that made me sit and contemplate the way I was acting and how I felt. Powerful emotions get powerful responses, but the problem is that your expression of love can be seen as a threat to someone who's uninterested. The blocking technology is a perfect metaphor for that feeling. You think maybe, just maybe, if you do this one romantic gesture you'll be able to rekindle that love, but in reality, all you are is a chaotic blob of emotions, frantically inserting yourself into the life of someone who would rather not know you. If you ever find yourself in that situation follow the advice this episode gives you. It's better to live your life as a happy stranger than a desperate lunatic.

Weird esoteric sports. Tildes could have their own version of /r/theocho, but I guess that would get delegated to it's own tilde too.

I'm not as privy to the incel culture as some, but something I did see was a ton of suicide jokes. Now, I'm not against black humor, I've had some dark periods in my life and joking around about my depression did feel helpful at the time, but I don't think I've ever seen a page of incels/braincels content that didn't have at least one person calling something "sui fuel" or commenting that "it's over". I wonder how many of those people, having their depression and self-loathing stoked by the community they went to for understanding, finally took the bait.

    It's so tragic.

I definitely would be, I've been working on an all-inclusive (for me at least) news aggregator with all of my favorite sources, and I'd love to throw tildes into the mix. I can't figure out an avenue for commenting from my app that doesn't involve a link to the comment thread itself, but I've always been a lurker anyway.

This wouldn't be the first case of a nazi's name being removed from his work. Julius Hallervorden and Hugo Spatz, prominent Nazi scientists, discovered Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration. Up until recently, it was known as Hallervorden–Spatz syndrome, and I personally don't believe anything of value has been lost. Taking part in a genocide grossly overshadows all the good they did in their life, and being forgotten is exactly what they deserve.

The fact that everyone there needs to be "hardcore gamers" really exemplifies how boring all of those guys must be. This quote really speaks volumes:

“Here at Riot Games, we hire gamers,” he said in his talk to an audience of Riot employees, audio of which was obtained by Kotaku. “If you’re not a core gamer, you need to over-index in another area.” Whether it’s finance, development facilities, player support, he said, “I don’t give a shit. You’re better if you’re a gamer.”

Do you really need to spend 12 hours a day playing dota or overwatch to do payroll? Of course not. These are just a bunch of guys intimidated by anyone outside of their nerd clique, and it really sucks that they've gained positions of power.
