But really, I picked up overtime at work for a co-worker who needed the day because her son was having surgery and needed some help with the kids. I suppose that was a nice thing to do. I really didn't want to, not with the new Warcraft expansion having just dropped, but she's always been real nice to me and has been a huge help as someone I could ask work related questions and get an answer without giving me any grief like some of the others I've worked with.
So now, during downtime, I'm browsing Tilde and familiarizing myself with the site.

There are some ups and downs in this thread and this got a good laugh from me. I imagine it pouring down with rain and you telling off your robotic friend as it beeps happily around your room.

A girl kinda forced me to have her number at work today. It's my last day before I start a job in the industry I studied for, and this was the first she learned about it. Before she gave it to me, she asked me about my 'girlfriend' and I had to answer that I didn't have one. She kept talking to me after that, I got close to me when she could.
I'm not dumb, it's obvious what she wants. But I kinda wish she didn't give me her number because now she can get hurt if I don't talk to her, but at the same time, I'm not interested in starting a new relationship of any kind right now, romantic or otherwise. And I really don't like having any sort of conversation around something personal like attraction.
Oh well, decisions, decisions. At least I have a new job to look forward to on Monday. I'll be able to say I've been busy if she asks why I've not been talking to her.

Yeah, E can be administered orally (sublingually, buccally, or just by swallowing it - buccal administration is discouraged though because it can stain/be bad for your teeth), via a patch, or by intramuscular injection (typically into the thigh). There's talk in the community in various places that different administration methods can work better for some people - some people are fine on pills, for others the pills don't get their levels high enough without getting to somewhat dangerous doses (or they have other health concerns that the pills cause concerns with), patches can irritate the skin pretty badly or in some cases refuse to stick (someone I know uses medical tape to keep her patches stuck to her skin, which seems like a bit of a pain), but injections are typically accepted as the best option as far as effectiveness, from what I've seen - even in cases where people's actual levels were fine, some anecdotally have said they had better progress and results once they started on injections. The main drawback for injection is simply that it's expensive (my copay for a vial is $75 - it'll last me a few months, but still, my copay for the pills is only $7 a month), if you mess up it can be a bit painful, and you have to give yourself injections once every week or two. Also it has been known to go in-and-out of shortage from time to time, though my prescriber said it seemed to be ok right now, at least in my area, and sure enough mine's been filled already, though I'm gonna wait until my appointment next week to actually inject it, so they don't yell at me for doing it before their instruction lol. Also of course you need to buy syringes and needles and have a sharps container and dispose of them properly and all of that stuff.
You may know these, but here's a few things I've learned about injectables over time with my experience as an EMT and eventually with my own testosterone injections (my body stopped producing it)....

I'm not sure how viscous the estrogen is, but testosterone is usually suspended in oil which is why they recommend larger needles (typically 20 gauge or less). However, you can load with a 20 gauge needle and then backload into a smaller needle (basically pull the plunger out and push the fluid into the chamber) like a 29-31 gauge (insulin needle) so you're not leaving giant holes in your leg and it's a lot more comfortable to do the injection.
I personally prefer a combination of the z-method (pull the skin back before injecting) and a small (typically around 0.01-0.02ml) pocket of air to ensure the fluid stays in place and doesn't leak out.
As for needles and syringes, I highly recommend buying them in bulk online. At the pharmacy I was paying 2-3x per needle what I was buying boxes of 100 online.
Since estrogen isn't controlled like testosterone is, it wouldn't surprise me if there's an online indian pharmacy you can purchase it from if you ever run low on supply or want a cheaper alternative. I personally get hcg and AIs from online indian pharmacies and their prices are usually pretty good. It's not all that expensive to find a place online that will do a chemical analysis of the product as well, if you're worried about quality.

Appreciated - I can get the needles and syringes for a fairly reasonable price at the pharmacy - $3 for 10 of each, so $9 total (thanks to a NY state initiative to help reduce spread of disease, I can get them OTC - if I buy them from a prescription it’s automatically $12 before insurance at minimum, and my insurance doesn’t cover them). But yeah I’m using the two needles (one to take from the vial, one to actually inject).
They’re doing training for me on Thursday , so I’m sure they’ll walk me through the whole thing again, but I appreciate the advice, ty!

For whatever reason the needles alone cost about the same, but $30 for 100 instead of $90 is about a third of the price so it might be worth looking into once you're more comfortable with the injections.
There's a lot of different injection techniques out there, I'd highly recommend trying out a few to find out what works best for you.

I sent a response back but they haven't looked at it. I've known the resident for just over a year where the others have known them for 6+ years, I was told this evening the family were very thankful for all we had done and couldn't have been happier with the care we provided so that is a huge plus
I have a job interview today and I like my chances. I had a live coding phone interview the other day and they said I did better than most people. It pays about 20K more than my current job as well.

I had a truly massive construction-style dumpster delivered yesterday, one of those 20 yard long monsters. I've already filled it 4/5 throwing away literal decades of garbage. I have depression-era parents, so they were hoarders who never threw anything away. Half a floor of the house was basically a storage junkyard. It feels good to finally get all of that stuff out. I still have several piles of old construction bits to toss (lumber, drywall etc) and two more rooms to empty out. Then there's the attic, god only knows what's up there. Then the cleaning begins.

Yesterday I did a video for a local non profit that has helped me a lot and they sent someone to pick me up and drop me off. She was roughly the same age as me, very attractive, and we had really good conversation on both the drive to and from. I have her number because she texted me to get my address before we met, and on the way home she gave me her business card and told me I could call her if I needed anything, even if it's not related to the non profit.
Today I'm trying to figure out if that means she's interested in me and if so how to not fuck it all up, or whether or not I'm worth dating right now.

I had a plumber here for the third day this week- he was a quiet man, and fixed everything barely even speaking.
The first guy arrived for ten minutes, took photos, and left. The next day, the boss came, spent half an hour complaining about the first guy, then claimed his tools were broken, then left.
The third guy spent a few hours here, fixed up everything, then asked me not to leave a negative review on his coworkers because they need the contract with our water company.
My plumbing damage was a result of a month of flooding. An hour after he left my phone began to scream regarding yet another flood alert.

I still need to get better at commentating what I'm doing, so that's what I'm working on. Every once in a while I get a user that's active in chat and it's my favorite.

Yet another day in the uphill struggle of daily functioning and life.
Yesterday we were hit directly by a big rainstorm. I don't know if it was some kind of metaphor of my inner state or else. There were flooded roads, fallen trees, typical storm stuff. Today it's still windy and in the morning I saw a large, beautiful butterfly taking wings. It must have taken good care of itself and weathered the chaos.
I was soothing a friend who's undergoing their own troubles. I have full faith in their own ability to emerge fine and stronger out of it, and all I can do is to lend some support. But do I have faith in mine? I can't say yes or no.

I have almost finished week of the first course in the Applied Python for Data Science specialization on Coursera. I have been using DataCamp to learn Python and dip my toes into Data Science but I recognized that I was moving too fast and wasn't internalizing everything that I was working on within the course.
This Coursera specialization seems like it will be good in tandem with DataCamp though. I also started to read Think Like A Programmer and am enjoying it pretty well to get in the creative mindset when solving problems.
I recognize that one of my biggest problems I am having with programming right now is just writing down what I want to do and planning how I am going to accomplish it. My code ends up a jumbled mess that takes awhile to recompile in jupyter notebook and sometimes I remove something that was critical to get from point A to point C.
Other than that, I am looking forward to trying out Madden on PC over the weekend and trying to get my friends to do an online franchise together.

I'm an Uber driver, and I just got a message from Uber "Support" telling me that they'd decided some of the cleaning fee claims I've submitted recently were "not credible", and further violations would lead to deactivation.
I get why they're focusing on the issue, since news sites have been increasingly writing about "vomit fraud", but I just happen to have the bad luck of constantly getting riders who put their muddy feet on my seats or spill their drinks! If there really had been a problem with any of my past claims, they should have caught it then, not now in response to, probably, someone trying to get out of paying a valid fee.
I'm annoyed. I guess this is the impetus I needed to start backing up my dashcam footage longer than a day.

I have a hole in my tooth and it doesn't hurt, but it bother's me a lot. I don't know how to explain, but having a hollow tooth is very uncomfortable. It won't be fixed soon... I have to live at least 2 more weeks with it. And it won't be cheap.
On the plus side, I had coconut ice cream and it was awesome.
I finally got back to working on my Tildes application for Android, hammered out an issue I'd been stuck on for hours last time I touched things. Hoping to begin work in earnest tomorrow, pretty excited to play around with the design.
That’s pretty cool! I was thinking about finding one for iOS, but don’t know where to look.
What was the issue you ran into?
Ashamed to say because of how simple it was, honestly. When I started with JSoup, I kept getting errors after trying to login--then I realized I hadn't defined the origin... Should have read the response message in addition to the error code...
In my experience, 99% of time spent programming is spent on little tiny things like that.
I'm using the JSoup library to scrape information from the website, essentially making my own crude API. 😄
Nice. Is it on github or gitlab?
I'll be putting it up on GitHub when it's usable and I've had time to comment excuses for my bad code. 😗
Make sure to post about it when it's done, I'm sure a lot of people here are interested in this.
I definitely would be, I've been working on an all-inclusive (for me at least) news aggregator with all of my favorite sources, and I'd love to throw tildes into the mix. I can't figure out an avenue for commenting from my app that doesn't involve a link to the comment thread itself, but I've always been a lurker anyway.
That's sounds awesome! Are you developing for Android?
Yeah, I'm targeting Android KitKat and above.
Sweet!
I've been using Ionic for an app I'm building and I've been pretty impressed with it for the most part. It would also enable you to compile to an iOS and Android app (not native, but using web views) as well as a PWA for mobile or whatever else.
Just a thought :)
Hit me up when you upload your code! Sounds like a project I'd love to get involved in
I joined Tildes lol. It was the most meaningful thing I've done today which isn't necessarily a good thing.
But really, I picked up overtime at work for a co-worker who needed the day because her son was having surgery and needed some help with the kids. I suppose that was a nice thing to do. I mean, it may not seem meaningful to you, but it was probably a huge deal for her. The way I see it, you spent the day helping somebody out.
That's a good way to look at it. I do feel like I owed her for her kindness to me so in a way, I'm repaying her.
Good on you. You're a great coworker.
(Also: excellent username.)
Thank you. And I'm surprised. Very few pick up on it so quickly
I got shut out of my house by my robot vacuum. I'd gone out with the dogs and set it going like I usually do, when I got home it was cleaning behind the front door so I couldn't open it. I had to stand on my own driveway for a few minutes while it finished up..
You're living in the FUTURE!
I had one shut the bathroom door on itself. I'm not sure if it ran out of batteries or it realized it was contained in a small area, but it ended up powering off right against the door of the carpeted bathroom. I thought I was going to break something forcing the door open enough to move it.
There are some ups and downs in this thread and this got a good laugh from me. I imagine it pouring down with rain and you telling off your robotic friend as it beeps happily around your room.
I was selected for a scholarship that will pay for my undergrad and masters.

Just be direct, she'll be okay. A simple "I'm not interested" will do. The longer you're ambiguous about it the worse it'll be.
As Zephyr said, please be honest and straight.
If you don't feel confident just preface with something simple like "I could have had the wrong impression but just to avoid confusion, I'm not looking for any relationship right now as my priorities are...".

Or honest and gay. Or honest and bi. Just be honest.
(Sorry, couldn't resist the joke)
Found out a friend I was competing with for a job is taking another offer at a different company. I think we were both relieved.
I got the person who prescribes my HRT to sign off on letting me do injections instead of tablets, so yay~ get to go in next week for training on properly doing so, and then I get to jam a needle in my thigh once every couple weeks instead of taking 4 tablets a day.

For whatever reason the needles alone cost about the same, but $30 for 100 instead of $90 is about a third of the price so it might be worth looking into once you're more comfortable with the injections.
There's a lot of different injection techniques out there, I'd highly recommend trying out a few to find out what works best for you.
Update, because why not - Today someone I was friends with in high school (meaning I haven't seen them in 5 years) sent me a pretty nice supportive message on Facebook. So that's kinda neat. I sent a response back but they haven't looked at it. But yeah, that was a neat thing.I've been debating with myself internally for months whether I want to try to talk to people I used to know now that I'm less of a depressed, anxious, and dysphoric piece of shit.
Wow, that’s gonna be a small keyboard. Good luck with the switches
Gym and keyboards are a big focus for me this week too, strangely enough.
Those milled bottoms look great, especially the wooden ones. Between what you've shared and the Ajazz AK33 I've been eyeing, I really need to fight the urge to spend...
I was so excited when you said they had the defects marked down, sucks that they're sold out. 😫
Man, why did you have to tell me. Just bought some of the Navy Blues for a 60% keyboard. They just seemed so unique, and so cheap...
it wasn't today, but last night. I'm an aged care nurse and last night one of my residents passed, it wasn't a peaceful passing.
this isn't my first and won't be the last, I wish things could have been different for them.
the good thing I have taken from it, is at least it was quick.
sorry to bring things down.
thank you. it's part of the career I've chosen unfortunately, I was honestly more worried about my staff than my own mental wellbeing.
Nice! GL, stranger!
Thanks. I just got back from it. I took way too long to solve their whiteboard problem and I wasn't really satisfied with the solution I came up with, but I'll find out their decision next week.
I think 5’10” isn’t THAT rare. I work a job with probably 3 or 4 women around that height (and myself), though I imagine it may also depend where you are. When I was in Texas I was more standout as tall than I am here (I was the 3rd tallest person in my department probably, including the guys)
I've never lived in Texas, only driven through a few times. Anecdotally, people are short there. I sat in a super busy gas station lot for about half an hour, and every guy had to jump down from his truck. I'm 6'0" and felt like a towering giant.
An hour after he left my phone began to scream regarding yet another flood alert.
...Mi vida loca...
This is tough... I wish the best of luck for both of you!
I am moving to my new apartment today! Which is awesome, but since I was sick last weekend I have not had as much time as I really need to pack all my stuff. Apparently I have a lot more stuff than I thought.
Oof, that’s always a fun realization to have. “Ok I’m gonna pack up all my stuff and then I can go in like a couple hours” 5 hours later “Holy shit I’m tired - and I have to unload this shit when I get there? How did I even get all this stuff?”
Make sure to thank that friend!
I've never even met the friend! But I'll make sure to get to know her as soon as possible
You're very caring. I hope all will turn out fine for her and for you.
I know I'm late, and it wasn't necessarily today... But I got some followers on my twitch. I mostly do it as a hobby, so I don't really care about numbers. But when they go up, it makes me feel good. I still need to get better at commentating what I'm doing, so that's what I'm working on. Every once in a while I get a user that's active in chat and it's my favorite.
I became an uncle to a beautiful niece!
It was the last day of a direct report who I trained fresh from school over the last 2 years. Gonna miss them.
I just received the ticket of Guns N' Roses Not in This Lifetime... Tour, hold on Nov. 21 in Hong Kong.
Had the last in my week's series of job interviews (one per day for 5 days). Now flying back to the East coast.
Today I filmed a stupid video with my friends, but in the process of doing so, a lady asked us what elementary school we were at, (where we were filming) 5 minutes later, EMS showed up. I guess the lady could've died or something if we weren't there so.
