I think that 'commodified' is the right word, a lot of these memes (for lack of a better word) start as genuine actions and are latched onto people who want or need attention. Most similar memes always start as a small injoke or genuine expression but this seems to be all-too-easy to turn to when times are tough, similar to smartphone addiction cycles this trend preys on an artificial replacement for actually doing or experiencing a good deed.

I'm pretty much an audiophile compared to the 'normal' person but I wouldn't call myself a hardcore
    I have two hifi setups:

    • Goodmans speakers I got for 20 quid at the charity shop, surprisingly good reproduction for 70's speakers
    • Yamaha A/V amp / video receiver (only use the amp)

    the other:

    • Cambridge Audio Topaz
    • Heybrook Solo 2
    • some tekniks tape deck
    • some yamaha cd player
    • pro-ject essential 2

In essence I put all this together for very little money and it still sound pretty good. Recently I setup a Monitor Audio (Bronze??) floorstanding speaker with a mid-range amp and an AT LP5 and it's almost comparable to the 2nd setup (still a bit better) but cost like 3x the price

I really enjoy watching a good cooking show, Serious Eats has always been high quality. But my favourite is Chef John (from foodwishes.com) https://www.youtube.com/user/foodwishes absolute star of the game and every recipe of his I've tried has worked brilliantly. One of my favourite things about BA, SE, and Foodwishes is they all teach not to meticulously measure like you might with some other people's recipes.

Special mention to Juanelo1946 for being the nicest cook on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/Juanelo1946, absolute star even if the recipes are basic. Always low-carb but with fresh fish he catches on video!

I'd like to nominate Exuma - Exuma (1970),

I think it's probably one of the most legendary spiritual albums recorded, a look into some Junkanoo, Carnival, and Calypso music with a raw, ecstatic energy behind each song. His music is truly unique and nothing has quite reached it.
The story of Exuma's music is really captivating and later on in his career he toured with some big names.

I saw this video a while back of a luthier inspecting the guitar used on the album and thought it was interesting:

The Generating Station Complex stuff is a branch out.

It's not for everyone and I accept that but it's been a fun catharsis for me to arrange sounds in a nice way

I'd much rather my accounts stay frozen as to what I've said rather than memorialised for sure. Authors don't get their books added to (in forms of introductions etc. sure but not in terms of content) so why should my content be able to be accessed by anyone but me. It seems that the general opinion relating to this is that social media is an extension of self but in reality it's owned by another company which is what makes legacy-building on these sites kinda dangerous if you're serious about leaving an impression at least in the near-future after you're dead.

To perhaps talk about a bit of a buzz, the idea of a blockchain-based social media would (in theory) probably solve this problem but leads to monetisation problems for the big companies now. Someone needs to smash up the corporate web by making these really neat ideas very easy for the least-computer literate.

Terminal House & Princess Alexandria Hospital in Harlow were used. Terminal House is now emergency accommodation since the London councils cannot afford the rents on council houses.

Actually my hometown had some filming take place for Clockwork Orange, they filmed some of the scenes in the hospital and an office building, from what i know Kubrick really liked Harlow at the time.

Nah, I'm aware of the context and am a fan of cyberpunk and sci-fi in general it just gets to me sometimes. I don't want to say that the cheese is bad but yeah sometimes it's a bit much.
