Comment on Ireland plans to offer abortions for free, as ban is officially repealed in ~health
minibug Ireland officially revoked its ban on abortion this week – and its health minister says that under a new law, women won't have to pay for abortion services in the country. The goal is to ensure access and make sure women aren't forced to travel for the procedure, Health Minister Simon Harris says.
Irish President Michael D. Higgins signed the abortion referendum bill into law on Tuesday, striking the Eighth Amendment from the books.

Comment on Kim hosts South Korea's Moon for summit talks in Pyongyang in ~news
minibug South Korean President Moon Jae-in is visiting North Korea's capital for the first time, hosted by Kim Jong Un for three days of talks. The two leaders shared an embrace and stood in an open car to wave to spectators at a parade in Pyongyang.
It's the third meeting between Moon and Kim – and the first to take place outside of the "truce village" of Panmunjom, on the border. Their agenda centers on two large goals: creating more ties between the two Koreas, and making progress in talks over North Korea's denuclearization.

minibug The way he treated his ex-wife was pretty bad. He would say things like "I am the alpha in this relationship" and "If you were my employee, I would fire you" to her.But also, has he previously done anything else as bad as this diver/pedo disaster?

It's very simple, while also being very symbolic. Instead of a basic hammer and sickle, it's the two industries which represent them instead (industry and agriculture). It's also a nice inversion from the Red on White color scheme of the current Japanese flag.

minibug Such a shame. Used to be such a beautiful looking country.Mining has rendered the inner 80 percent of Nauru uninhabitable, with the island's roughly 11,000-strong population almost entirely restricted to the coast. Now, the interior is dotted with jagged limestone pinnacles -- geological "leftovers" after the phosphate-rich soil was scooped out from the hard stone.
Such a shame. Used to be such a beautiful looking country.
