Which starts when a reporter, upon seeing a news report about a flight in which every passenger lost their memory, tells her agent, "I want to write about that". Her agent replies, "Again?" Starts one of the greatest conspiracy stories I've ever read.
And Lazarus, and Gideon Falls. There actually is a whole lot of amazing writing these days. Outside of Marvel/DC.
Lucius Shepard (RIP), M. John Harrison, Iain M. Banks (RIP), N.K. Jemisin--there are so many great writers who have gifted us.

My children love me; my career is blooming.
Life is struggle; but suffering is optional.
Hugs!

If you haven't read Iain M. Banks, you should. His Culture series was is the greatest extended sci-fi ever written. He was lyrical and gifted. His death at 59 was a huge loss.
Those I bet, could translate to audiobooks. But, seriously, be prepared. His stories get dark.

I'm in the judiciary--I can talk about this stuff forever. And listen--no real lawyer would give legal advice, even anonymously. We could be disbarred for that.
Doesn't stop it from happening of course.
Anyway, cheers.

The idea that closing a few subs for a few days would have any effect whatsoever is ludicrous. Moderators and users have no ownership interest whatsoever.
Sure, it may go the way of 4chan. Here's news: it will. One day. This is the internet. Today's big thing is tomorrow's afterthought.
We don't even know if Christian was telling the truth. $20mil? I'm not taking sides. But my point is: we are like Japanese villagers when Godzilla attacks.
The only way to affect Reddit is to stop using it. All anyone has to do is visit it to see how many people still are posting on it.
All closing subs does is penalize users who want to utilize a community to focus on those subjects. But this site shows that a generalized feed can work. In other words, we don't need focused areas.
And listen--I'm 15+ on reddit. I remember the early days. They were a lot like this, there.
If users are so offended, then let them leave. Let them come here, to hubski, to the various other lightly-trafficked sites. Because eventually, this protest notwithstanding, something else will arise.
Let Huffman lament his lost millions.
Time to move on.
But enough with the ineffectual protests.
P.S. I didn't even know that 3rd-party apps existed. Don't care. I'm not the only user who feels that way. Not all of us only access reddit via our phones.

If your tastes lean toward sci-fi, you must read N.K. Jemisen's broken earth series. But don't read about it first. It is such an incredible and brilliant surprise.

It's really cool because my son has become a fan of Vonnegut.

Omg you remind me of the scene in The Big Lebowski where John Goodman attacks the nihilists with his bowling ball.
