I was playing with randoms. Also, in typical fashion, I was burned out on multiplayer games and had less time due to work/being an adult.
Games as a service don't appeal to me anymore if they ever did. I can't dedicate the time but I also no longer enjoy the grind. My gaming time is limited and precious, so I save it primarily for SP games.
As for Bungie, when they bought themselves out from Microsoft, basically half the studio stayed to form 343 to keep working on Halo. I basically consider that the death of Bungie. At least the one I loved and have all the positive memories of. I enjoyed Destiny, it has great shooting, but it was grindy and soulless.

There is no possible way to justify their valuation and they know it, so you IPO and get as much money out of it before the AI hype dies and people move onto the next thing leaving retail investors and retirees holding the bag. They might survive, but unlike Google who actually makes money from other things, I am skeptical about Anthropics future. There is still no proof that AI can be done in a profitable way but there is always a possibility of some miracle break through. Not a good reason to buy a stock in my opinion, but I won't be completely shocked if Anthropic manages to survive.
As for SpaceX, it's even more obvious that it is a pump and dump. I don't disagree that they do real things. There is a better chance they survive as they have a real business in Starlink and Elon continues to rally tech bro retail investors. The problem is the same. AI evaluations are insane and unjustified. If SpaceX was IPOing as a space company, that would be an interesting discussion. However, they bought Twitter which Elon has run into the ground and xAI which is like what, maybe the 5th best AI company if we are being generous? And that failure as an AI company is the main thing they are using to justify their $1.75 trillion valuation. So, Elon gets Nasdaq and S&P500 to change their seasoning rules so all the people who helped him finance Twitter can get their money out. Elon doesn't need to be able to sell shares. It's all about getting his investors money so they keep giving him money for future schemes and again retail investors and retirees will be left holding the bag. Yes, the company will continue to exist, but it will never do anything to justify the insane valuation they are pushing.

It's a genius way to pump a loser of a stock and exactly why Elon pushed them to change their rules for stock seasoning. It's in the Nasdaq and S&P500 best interest as they will make a ton of money in fees. With regulators completely gone in Trump's America, the reason for Elon pushing to elect Trump becomes all the more clear.

“This should empower the industry. There’s a new audience, and they’re waiting for this kind of content,” says analyst Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations. “We knew indie horror was hot, but we didn’t know how hot. It’s actually competing with the big summer blockbusters.”
I think this is the wrong take away. YouTube talent, yes. Horror fans. Yes. They have always been there. Is Backrooms even horror? I guess. The problem is that Hollywood doesn't greenlight interesting horror films so you get stuck with paint by Numbers garbage unless someone has name recognition. I'm sure, as always, Hollywood will take away the wrong lessons but I guess we should look forward to being flooded with low budget horror movies.

In your perfect scenario, I guess you could argue that everyone has agreed to what constitutes a crime. In that scenario, that probably also eliminates crime.
While a fun thought experiment, the main reason to still "allow crime" is to push back on what society feels is a crime. If somehow we have all magically agreed what is and is not crime, then I imagine most crime would be limited to the heat of passion crimes. Is that better? If I get angry at someone cutting me off on the road are they immediately caught or do I have a chance to retaliate? If adultery is not a crime and I come home and find my wife in bed with another bed, does this system still eliminate my passionate response?

If those people didn't have the same tools does that mean they are suddenly going to engage with facts more often? Seems unlikely to me.
We have destroyed or weakened the actual tools to help those people and social media is not going to be the solution.
I feel like this was only a matter of time. This probably helps him get a little more out of his reporting instead of every other outlet just commenting on his excellent reporting.
