I have a long commute so I mainly listen during it and build a routine. If they are inconsistent it's hard to build that routine.
Ologies is great. Allie Ward is the host and she is lovely. Each week she talks to a different ologist, like gynecology, radiology or fearology, etc. You learn a ton from experts in their field each week. I bet you'll like it.

Yeah, half the fun is dialing in the grind size and amount of coffee to make the best coffee, at least for me. We stick to medium to dark roast, so bitter is a feature, as long as not too much, but that's a great tip!
I remain jealous!

How is the pot size? Is it enough for only 3 mugs of coffee or is it closer to 4 mugs? How much coffee do you grind to water ratio with it?

That sounds like a legit setup. Again, I would love to have the space to do anything like that. Good luck with getting all that set up. I don't know if you actually want an internet stranger showing up at your house but it would be cool if you shared progress updates/pictures of your arcade.

Me:
- Male (He/Him), 41, Ontario, Canada
- Married, no kids and don't have them, but we have two dogs and two cats
- automatic drip coffee lover. I like other coffee methods, but my wife and I split a pot of coffee every day, often before I go to work, so nothing beats an auto drip for a reliable quantity of coffee. I have an OXO grinder that was more expensive than my coffee maker, which is Kitchen Aid that I mainly keep around due to the amazing convenience of a removable water tank. I would love to own a Moccamaster Technivorm one day. Making coffee every morning so I can hang out with my wife before going to work is my morning ritual.
- I'm a sales manager
- My main hobby is video games. Primarily on PC. I mainly play SP games, but would love to play more coop. I'm down for basically anything, although I have figured out that I do not like survival games. Currently playing Season 3 of Last Epoch and always enjoy a good ARPG. Excited for the FFT remaster, already have it preordered. I'm also excited for the Indiana Jones DLC.
- Sports fan, although my desire to watch live sports really died during the pandemic. I was a Steeles fan until they signed Rodgers, so forget them. Also a Jays, Pens and Raptors fan.
- It only took 40 years, but I'm finally working out consistently for the first time in my life. So I guess I could talk about fitness too.
- I really enjoy craft beer, but I also rarely drink any more, so I guess I'm not even sure if that is a defining trait anymore.
- I'm an EV car enthusiast. In that I think the tech is cool and I am somehow already on my third EV. I don't know how to work on them or anything. I worked for Tesla and now hate Tesla, so maybe I have interesting stories about EVs. I have a long commute and enjoy driving in general.
- I really enjoy trying new restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc.
- I enjoy... Finance knowledge? I guess you would say that. I made our budget and take weird joy in spreadsheets and tracking transactions. Enjoy watching finance influencers I agree with take apart all the people selling terrible finance stuff. So that's a genre right?
That's probably too much. If you read this fair, thank you! Drop a reply or send a DM!

What games are/will be in your arcade? Will it be open to fellow Canadians or just friends? If just friends, let me know how I can bribe my way in... I guess assuming we are remotely close to each other in this massive country.

I had moved back home from university, needed a car and had a bunch of money saved for me to get me to stop drinking pop. The car lasted through university and until I met my future wife whose sister was dating a car salesman.
I don't recall exactly what happened. I think something seized with the clutch. Not a car guy. I'm not sure. All I know is that I couldn't go faster than about 20 KPH and slowly limped to the closest car shop for them to confirm I would need an expensive fix so I just got a new car instead at that point.

Anyways, my heart break is job related. I have been in retail most of my life. I started working with my current company's Operations team on the side. I completed various projects, was recognized as the Ops guy by peers, got excellent reviews, found purpose. Basically the best three years of my life professionally.
Finally, a remote role on the Operations team opens up. Technically a step down from my current role, but the pay range is good enough that I can make it work. More importantly, it will allow me to do Operations and project management and learn from some great people on the team. Basically the perfect job and I'm clearly the favourite for the job. I do great on the first two rounds of interviews and I'm scheduled for the next round. Before it happens, the internal recruiter reaches out. She needs to tell me that the pay range is actually lower than what we discussed. A lot lower. 51% lower than what I was currently making at the highest, and I probably won't get the highest. No negotiation. Changed due to the market I live in, which was bullshit. Whatever, I run the numbers. See if my wife would be willing to look for a job, basically anything I can do to make it work. No choice, I can't make the finances work. I turned down the job I worked so hard to get. I was heartbroken.
I'm still in retail. Probably will be the rest of my life. Is what it is I guess.
My wife does an amazing job getting our animals to pose for photos, especially with her books. Here is Pippin and Darwin posing with her 3rd book.
