What have you been watching/reading this week? (Anime/Manga)
Making the thread before I fall asleep edition.
Anyway, what have you been watching/reading this week?
Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its Anilist, MAL, or any other anime/manga database you use!
Usagi Drop. It's a very chill, mature, very slice of life story about a 30 years old guy taking care of a small child, alone. I just started watching but it looks like there won't be any magic, super abilities, giant robots or teenage drama here, this is probably not a super popular genre, but I like it.
The anime is great, but don't read the manga.
at the risk of spoilers: what's the difference?
The father and the girl get married after a time skip.
Well that escalated quickly.
Moved on to Kingdom. Second real manga that managed to capture my interests. It's good.
I'm also very slowly watching Megalobox. Maybe two episodes a month. I'm old enough to vividly remember a time where boxing was the only game in town. UFC? People fighting with their legs, holding each other on the ground? Having to get a PHD in martial arts to understand what's going on? Nah! That's not fighting for me. I like people punching each other in the face like Rocky Balboa, and Megalobox captures the feeling very well... it's easy to get excited!
But I got finish Jojo first. I'm anxious to start Vento Aureo. The premise seems really interesting... I love mafia stories.
Catching up on Baki 2018 through youtube ( subbed clips as well as the comic ).
That lead me to some hilarious clips for seven deadly sins so thats on the list now.
Still need to get to Castlevania S2.
I'm on episode 37 of Jojo Crazy Diamond. A bit over the top, but it's Jojo, it'd be unreasonable to complain. Hayato may be the most annoying character in anime history. Other than that, it's great.
