Other commenter called it "campy" and I agree, that's what happens when you try making live action look like anime. Bad idea unless your last name is Wachowski. It's ironic that in an effort to be faithful they're creating something that deviates completely from the source material... Cowboy Bebop is often comedic, but only rarely campy.
I don't see why this should be in ~anime, TBH, since it is not animation, it's merely based on an animation. By the same logic, Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings would be in ~books. I was in...

Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer :P
Not sure if this is a ~TV or an ~anime post, but if the whole show is this ultra stylized "Scott Pilgrim" nonsense, I'm down for it.
Same, I think -- I need to rewatch the anime now! To ... prepare.
Ditto! This trailer is a masterpiece of editing and shot composition. *chef's kiss*
The original series comes to Netflix Oct. 21 if you want to pan that particular stream.
Oh I've started watching it again!!! So good :D
Absolutely agree with you there, every bit of content I see from it the more I get excited, which I thought would be near impossible.

That was really campy. It's not really up my alley, but it looks like fun.
Just a heads up, the anime is now live on Netflix and it aged extremely well. It's even better than I remembered.
