Free training today to help fight book banning
Tonight at 7 pm Central/8 pm Eastern, there is a free workshop/training to help people learn how to make book résumés for highly targeted books. These would then go on the Unite Against Book Bans website.
Quote from the UABB website on what a Book Resume is:
Book Résumés help teachers, librarians, parents, and community members defend books from censorship. They detail each title’s significance and educational value and are easy to share with administrators, book review committees, elected officials, and board members.
Their goal is to create a process for sourcing these résumés from the community because the ALA cannot keep up with demand (and is drowning with budget cuts).

because it's primarily the flavor of book banning problems in the US they are fighting, But anyone who wishes to contribute or use the resources is welcome to do so.Can you clarify if only one resume per book is necessary?
The short answer is yes, they only need one resume per book on UABB.
In the training, they will provide a list of books that need resumes. This is a triage approach to focus on books that are often challenged and that have plenty of reviews and awards to highlight.
Longer term, EveryLibrary has a big database of challenged books to date (with data to show the number of challenges—an entry per challenge), so people could check between UABB and that list, and if a book not on UABB has several/many bans, it could be a good candidate for a resume.
Shared this with my librarian. Thank you!
