I've syndicated this to HN and sent them some money. Great project, hope they manage to stay afloat. :)
I assume you mean this submission?
too bad you used the original title (and not mine or some other title you came up with yourself), almost nobody knows what is feneas and "Feneas in the future" is a pretty abstract title that i don't think will generate a lot of interest.
Maybe you can edit it?
HN has a rather strict "use the original title; don't editorialize" rule, which the mods there fervently enforce... so even if it was resubmitted with your title, it would likely just get edited right back. :(
Time to edit the original title. 😏
Thanks for posting this.
Yet another good organization that only just now popped up on my radar (I've seen the name, but never followed up before now). Note that they're not just FOSS, but specifically about advancing federated networks (Matrix, Pleroma, Mastodon, Diaspora, etc). These are the "Un-Facebooks" of the world.
Anyone considering donating ... consider also/instead joining them. Looks like they need more membership, only costs €1/month, gives you some perks, and helps keep you engaged in the project. I'm joining them; maybe then I'll remember they exist.
their president mentioned on friendica they are also missing man power (people willing to put hours), so if anyone has enough skills/motivation/time they could use the help. He said the founders can't manage the social media accounts but if someone else will it will help build "brand awareness" (and then hopefully more donations and volunteers).
also worth mentioning is they intend to spread information about federated web projects, they do this by maintaining wedistribute and fediverse.party.
I've never heard of Feneas, which I suppose is part of the problem. They seem like a good project though!
Sad to hear. I have my matrix account there. Will have to support the little I can!
