Online visual art communities without AI?

Hi Tildeans,

I am not an artist, but I know artists who are searching for online spaces where they can post / share / engage with artwork without the AI generated art being ever-present.

I’m wondering if anyone on Tildes is aware of platforms in the small web that are trying to accomplish this? I’m specifically looking for smaller platforms, since I think Tildes does a good job creating an online community where it feels like I’m engaging with real people. I appreciate anyone who has any suggestions!

    I don't think it can considered part of the small web, but cara.app is trying to do that. Their discord server feels pretty small and cozy compared to the main site.

      +1 to cara. While I am not a user, I do follow the creator on social media and the platform was created for the sole purpose of avoiding AI where possible.

    You could also look into the Fediverse. mastodon.art is the most obvious option, and it explicitly bans AI art, but IMO the main admin is very prone to drama. I also know of sunny.garden, another...

    I'm sure there are more instances, but these are the only two that come to mind.
