Photo Challenge Jun 17th to 23rd Pastimes!
For our first photo challenge, any equipment goes! Please participate regardless of skill level or experience. :) Be it an old Polaroid, a point and click, a phone cam, or a professional kit, capture those photons and post them here!
Our subject this week: between three to 10 images exploring a pastime of yours. For example:
Reading? Pics of stacks of books, libraries, e-readers, pages of text, people absorbed in the printed word...
Running? Your shoes! Legs blurring by, your favorite route scenery, your muscle rub cream, brand of sock you like...
As long as you can connect it in some way to your activity, it's fair game. Let's clean our lenses and get going!
Beach Crafting
Here's an example of a sequence, if you'd like a story instead of subject exploration. This was taken by cell phone over the last few hours. :)
What an incredible beach. We live right on the beach but ours barely has any shells let alone anything other than just pure sand.
Beautiful creations from it too.
Thank you! This beach doesn't always have rubble banks; it changes season to season depending on the tides. If you're ever near by let me know - I'll take you reef walking. :)
Stop being so amazingly creative in everything you do... you're making the rest of us look bad!
All joking aside, really nice photos and work though. :)
Oh noes...
Does it help that I suck at music and coding is a mystery? XD
I run pretty regularly, but I also like to take a decent walk break after a hard run to stretch. For those walks I tend to go to places that are a little off the beaten running paths. These are those walks' stories.
Taken exclusively by cell phone.
That's a beautiful place with the locks. Concept-wise I enjoyed the frogs. If I had been drinking something when I read the caption I would have sprayed. XD
My favorite is the Canal You Feel. It invites me in. <3
I've been partnered with this super cool horse on and off for 20 years. At 21, she's still got it.
KYAH! She's beautiful! I love the pics! The first one shows her personality really well. The second one she just looks gorgeous. And the focus and composition are sharp. :D
That shoe - I had no idea they get that worn. How often do they get replaced? So shiney... @_@
Thank you! I ride 5-6 days a week on various surfaces (grass, sand, dirt road, trail) and the shoes get worn fast, so the farrier comes every 5 weeks to reset or reshoe my horse.
Shooting a video of making my friend's wedding rings - I would have liked to do a bit more with this but I've been really busy this week - shooting the video adds 50% to the time of any given task and photographing shooting the video is getting way meta! So sadly I have run out of time. Shot on a Samsung Galaxy A3, which has a surprisingly pleasant camera for a cheap device.
If anyone wants to see the video I can post that once I've finished editing it..
Yes! I want to see the video! For the molds, did you carve wax for the form? Did you start with a blank? I am so jealous of your exposures. They look so nice and not too contrasty, even in a workspace with mixed lighting. I need to get some advice for videos; someone wants me to post a time lapse of a painting.
Video is here
Hopefully your questions are answered on the video but please do ask on that thread if there's anything more I can help with.
Lighting on my images I can't take any credit for though - that's entirely due to the sun being out and my samsung phone being fairly good at exposure. :)
Hooray, it's still the 23rd! Here is my contribution this week, a series of photos of an embroidery project. I was more focused on getting sharp shots than doing anything artistic, but it was fun nonetheless. :)
Any chances for a continuation of this series? Weekly or monthly would be fun.
Yes, of course! I am going to post asking for input on a monthly schedule of sorts, and then start the next thread. :)
Groovy!!!! If I can help in anyway, outside of participating in the threads, let me know!
