I've been putting this video off for no reason. It's why Adam is so great at his work because he backs his claims up, and even owns if he's been part of pushing something he's learned was incorrect, or even just a bit inaccurate.

Similarly was bean mixing which my dad convinced me about but also turned out to be bunk. The true story, aside from Adam's talking about getting all essential aminos, is also that a protein is a protein: They'll all be there. Which is, I guess, Adam's point.

Just when I thought there was an interesting hole in his point, he managed to block it. It was just stuff I "knew" from other sources. I was thinking of Soylent or Huel as interesting edge cases where they have to be completely balanced because of their design as a full nutrient replacement, but the "poor people eating rice" explanation may account for that somewhat. But they're also careful about macronutrients, which are a bit of a different beast, even if many of the same rules apply.
