This seems like a stupid gimmick but there might be something to it. This video by youtuber Thought Emporium talks about how you can artificially age spirits using ultrasound. Basically, using vibrations you can increase the spirit's interaction with the wood, allowing it to pull more flavour quicker. Using ultrasound, apparently you're able to make something taste like it's been aged for years in about a half hour.

Surely some aficionados and snobs will claim it's lacking some subtle nuance, and playing Metallica to your whiskey is probably more of a marketing gimmick than anything, but at least the theory is sound. (pun intended)

The thing about music, though, is that the sounds in it are periodic, and there are many different sounds that cause interference. I'm not able to watch this video right now (I'll probably take a look at it later because it's a pretty interesting idea), but from what I can infer this the sound waves to be set to the resonant frequency of the container. If it's just the music, there's a chance that it won't have those frequencies at all, let alone at periods long enough to make much of a difference. Do let me know if I'm completely off base, though.

Besides, I'd rather have my whiskey aged by Apocalyptica's Metalica covers.

One can artificially age most spirits using either ultrasound or electric fields. The references and recommended articles and citations are a gold mine for papers on this particular topic. When they did this to wine, they could age it decades in days and none of the tasters had a clue.

Ironically in my earlier comment I almost put in Dethklok as my preferred band just because they were the first one that came to mind.

The problem with the Williams Street / Adult Swim content is not that they are bad, but that they are niche. And clearly WB - under Zaslav especially - is only really interested in making things when they can make them as mass market and lowest-common-denominator as possible. See also Rick and Morty being plastered everywhere, and CNN trying to become more "neutral".
