Feels a bit weird that this is in ~food, even if it is technically correct. Should this be moved to ~news or ~misc, or is tagging it with politics mean that it's fine here?

That’s what flabbergasts me about it. It wasn’t even a commanding majority. If it were in the US Senate with that percentage, it could easily have been filibustered. Instead, everyone just kept...

I'm also shocked that they still have zero plans of rejoining the EU. I do assume most of the officials who did Brexit are too ashamed/evil to admit they were wrong, so they keep going as-is....

Although I remember the EU being pretty pissed at how the negotiations went down, I'm pretty sure they would accept the UK back anytime.
Labour have said that they are going to attempt to build closer relations with the EU, basically creating a roadmap to eventually rejoin the EU. Thing is, the EU are not going to let the UK back...
Labour have said that they are going to attempt to build closer relations with the EU, basically creating a roadmap to eventually rejoin the EU. Thing is, the EU are not going to let the UK back in on the same terms, because the UK is currently a lot less powerful than it was 5 decades ago, and also because they want to discourage right-wing populists from making it look like a risk-free move for them to do their own exit, and making those kinds of concessions would be immensely politically damaging for UK politicians to make so soon after Brexit.
Yeah, I'm certainly convinced the UK would be treated to the same standards as any other candidate, and the British don't like the idea of that for sure.

I'm still, years later, totally in disbelief that Brexit actually happened. It wasn't even a binding vote!

Here's hoping it happens in 10 years.

Tories want an even higher separation from EU, even if it makes people starve... so I'd say that firmly falls under "evil".
Right wing populism still working to make people's lives "better" /sarcasm.
