Ive finally gotten a mixer, a standing one to be precise so ive been having a lot of fun baking and making doughy stuff in general. I made cinnamon buns and cookies and want to experiment more with cinnamon bun flavours, as well as Polish brioche doughnuts.

Additionally, ive been interested in Chinese foods so i made scallion pancakes as well as sesame shao bings! I made bao buns too with some leftover braised pork filling and the gelatinous liquid from the braise, though to be fair ive made those a few times now.

I've also been drastically bringing down my coffee consumption since it's been bothering my stomach a little for the first time ever. It could also be a combination with my meds, who knows? Also, with these improvements with my eating habits I've lost a few pounds which is nice.

if coffee is killing you, join me in a 200mg caffeine pill with 250mg theanine to smooth it out, then tea to cover the drink ritual portion. it isn’t so bad and, in a lot of ways, feels extremely futuristic.

Tea-wise i’ve pretty much settled on a rotation of Genmaicha, Hojicha, Lapsang Souchong, and some random greens that aren’t bad, but not good enough to make the rotation. A 5g/500ml pot in the morning is nice and mostly satisfies that lust for coffee.

A Russian lady recently told me that in Russia, they drink hot drinks in the summer and cold drinks during the winter, claiming there's some type of health benefit. I remain skeptical, but in her honor I picked up some ice cream for the first time in years. In the course of typing this comment, I've eaten about 2/3 of a pint of my new flavor discovery - sea salt vanilla. I've never been a fan of vanilla anything, but this is good.

However, I was surprised that street vendor ice cream sells very well in the winter. They don't need freezers so it's easy to set up a table to sell it. It also doesn't melt on you while you're eating it!
