I have developed a method for making Mac and Cheese at home that's much better than Kraft for my son, but my method uses several different times of fresh cheese and cream.
I suddenly have the urge to buy or make different powdered cheeses.
I make a mean homemade baked mac & cheese too... but there is definitely something to be said for the boxed kind with powdered cheese too. I was feeling super lazy and actually had some KD AKA...
I make a mean homemade baked mac & cheese too... but there is definitely something to be said for the boxed kind with powdered cheese too. I was feeling super lazy and actually had some KD AKA Kraft Dinner (Canadian version of Kraft Mac & Cheese) with hot dogs a few nights ago. Objectively it was not that great tasting of a meal, but having grown up on it, the nostalgia 100% overrode that and I still thoroughly enjoyed it. :P
Although to be fair, I did add a bunch of extras to it too. A little garlic powder, cayenne and red pepper flakes goes a long way towards improving it, as did topping it with some French's crispy friend onions.
I am going to have to give this version from Babish a try sometime though, since it looks like a great alternative.
