Meal prep last week was turkey, spinach, and feta burgers with parmesan smashed potatoes. A very enjoyable standby recipe in our house. Sunday I smoked some ribs on my new smoker for 4th of July celebrations with my friend's family. Probably the best ribs I've ever made, first time I've actually smoked something on new setup (just used it for grilling so far), and used temp probes to see how the heat disperses within so I know how to adjust future cooks.
I've been drinking the rooibos tea @cfabbro recommended. Usually herbal tea isn't my thing (genmaicha is my staple) but the rooibos is great while I'm sick with a cold. Thanks for the recommendation!
Awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Did you go with a flavored/blended variety or just straight up rooibos? I regularly drink both kinds, so if you're looking for some more specific brand or blend recommendations, let me know. E.g. DAVIDsTEA makes some great ones. Though sadly their "Coco Chai Rooibos" (with coconut flakes, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, pink peppercorn, and cloves), which was my absolute favorite, they don't make anymore. :(
I went with the straight rooibos, but when I run out of that I might try out something from DAVIDsTEA!
The coco chai version sounds pretty good. I'll cross my fingers that it comes back (and look for a word for "grief over a discontinued product").
Surely, the Germans have one. They have words for everything! :P

I just made it up... but I think it works. :)

I have been really into root beer floats. 100g of vanilla ice cream, and one of those mini 7.5oz cans of A&W root beer. Tillamook and Haagen-Dazs have been my choices for ice cream, since they had a reasonable ingredient list.
I recently made Pasta Alla Norma, a dish with an eggplant-tomato sauce and lots of basil. Great for vegetarian eating and I will definitely make it again. I had to substitute ricotta salata, but it was still great.
One trick I really enjoyed was peeling the eggplant partially in stripes, this allowed me to have discs and a bit of skin without long uninterrupted strings of it.
I haven't been motivated to cook much lately, so it's been a while since I've used a non-jarred sauce and I forgot how nice it is to DIY it. I even bought the nice stewed tomatoes.
