Almost two years ago, I asked Tildes for help with hanging my 9000-piece jigsaw puzzle on the wall. A year later, I hung my puzzle up, and still another year later, I published my promised blog post about it as part of TiMaSoMo.
Following the TiMaSoMo advice to post my project elsewhere on tildes (but procrastinating on that for an extra month) I am now posting it here! Thanks to everyone who helped me!!

This is amazing! I have two 5000 pc puzzles, and this is very much like the advice I was given when I finished ours (one I did, one was given to us and was "professionally" completed, which has a different finishing than the one I took in to a local hobby shop where it seemed to be a lot more on this level. I finished ours in 2010, and we were gifted one by friends who divorced but got it professionally hung about that time).
Now I have the space to finish one, and honestly I'd like to do another 5k puzzle, or even a 9k! It would detract from my gaming time, which I do not see as a negative thing, and I'll definitely reconsider courtesy of your tutorial!
You should do it!! I was a big fan of Dragons Day and Night if you're looking for a 5000 piece puzzle. If you want 9000 then I think the one I did, Dragon Forest, is the easiest one there is...
You should do it!! I was a big fan of Dragons Day and Night if you're looking for a 5000 piece puzzle. If you want 9000 then I think the one I did, Dragon Forest, is the easiest one there is (because you can do a large amount of color sorting at the start), but Bombardment of Algiers is also lovely.
There's also a new 7000 piece puzzle called The Six Portals that's gonna get a USA release next month and is already available in Germany. I'm SUPER excited for it!!!
I originally did the Ravensburger "Views of Modern Rome", which was so much fun! And then we inherited the Michelangelo's "Creation of Man" already framed. Ngl the "Bombardment of Algiers" looks...

Ngl the "Bombardment of Algiers" looks about as awesome as Rome, just that... we have two puzzles not displayed, but honestly, doing a puzzle may save me some sanity these days when I actually have spare time!
I love this thread so much and really should just get another puzzle so I spend less time playing video games, but also, I really do need a release ... though hopefully life will lighten up somewhat after January. Either way, I don't see how a big-ass puzzle won't solve my "I need to chill" problems!
Neat post! Detailed and methodical, I would expect nothing less :) Fun fact about LEGO: since it is ABS, you don't actually glue it, you use acetone or another solvent to chemically melt the...

Fun fact about LEGO: since it is ABS, you don't actually glue it, you use acetone or another solvent to chemically melt the pieces together. Here is a short video about it from a LEGO master builder. Trigger warning: it shows him chiseling apart a model.
