Anyone fancy a bash at the Game of Thrones board game?

You can play by email over at https://www.thronemaster.net - and I'd like to set a game up with some fellow Tilderen if there's sufficient interest :)

I'm not sure if I'd have the time for this, but I'm certainly interested. What sort of a game tempo were you thinking, i.e. how much time would you allow for a turn and how long do you think the full game would take? Which edition of the game would it be and with what decks and rule set?

It would be a play by email game with no explicit time limit, although in an ideal world I'd like to keep it to around 2 days per turn. The full game then would take a few weeks I think, depending...

Let me get back to you with the rule set, I don't imagine I'd want to alter it from the default at all though.

But I guess the choice of variant would also depend on the number of people interested.

Count me in as well then. 2 days a turn seems like a reasonable pace.

This board game was actually my first introduction to A Song of Ice and Fire. Back in college I had a few friends who were really into the books (years before the TV show was even in production), and one of them had a copy of the board game. I haven't played it in near a decade now, but I remember it as a very good but poorly balanced game, heavily inspired by the classic game Diplomacy, but with more streamlined mechanics allowing for quicker play, and some novel features added in inspired by elements in the books. That was the 1st edition though, it's possible 2nd edition is better balanced.

I've not played 1e, but the 2nd edition feels very balanced IMO.

I have only played this once a few weeks ago, and not online. Happy to give it a go, I do enjoy a good strategy game.

      Here's a good tutorial if you're still interested :)
