Tests with the back cover removed show that while CPU and GPU performance uplift, other components are no longer actively cooled by the negative pressure configuration, and get very toasty!

GamersNexus did not test the speakers or display, or comment on the quality or usability of controls. For such commentary, one should visit a different outlet. LinusTechTips has a video addressing some of these things.

In other, non news, news, I meant to keep tabs on the compositor development but I totally dropped the ball; I don't even know if Valve has submitted anything upstream. Maybe I'll hear something about it when the Steam Deck's software embargo lifts.

I’m more interested in the other handhelds that are coming out at much higher price points but are more available and also offer slightly better graphics.

I didn't get on the original hype and put in my reservation a bit too late, and I'm sighing at my "After Q2 2022" date. I feel sorry for people who came after I did because it almost feels like by the time they get theirs the next big thing is going to come out.

Then again there are a ton of people who still haven't got their PS5 and there still aren't any good games to satisfy the people who do own them. I guess we're in the middle of a "lost" console generation.
