What games have you been playing, and what's your opinion on them?

What have you been playing lately? Discussion about video games and board games are both welcome. Please don't just make a list of titles, give some thoughts about the game(s) as well.

Got Chrono Cross Radical Dreamers Edition for switch.

It's basically exactly like I remember it, but some of the improvements aren't really that great. There's slowdown everywhere and the backgrounds have been upscaled with a very badly trained AI that makes the details look terrible, and you have a choice of that mode or "classic" which still has all the text and 3D elements rendered at a resolution that is higher than the backgrounds by an order of magnitude. I can't imagine what kind of work it took to build this product, but it's strange because it still doesn't feel like it's quite enough.

That being said, this is one of the best games of all time, so it's still enjoyable nonetheless

Death Stranding: Director's Cut: Acts 1 and 2 are much harder than Act 3 is, even if Act 3 has you doing more complicated things. Yeah, I'm playing on Very Easy, which means I literally cannot lose, but as far as my goals, avoiding MULE and BT escalation triggers when I have to go through their territory, it's far easier to manage these encounters now. I also got hit by a pretty good jump scare that was more funny than scary, but as I joked to my brother, a good jump scare doesn't let you ask "will I jump?" but rather "how high will I jump?" I've been working on rebuilding roads because they're just so nice. I'm even raiding MULE camps for supplies.

Elden Ring: I've slowed down how much I play at a time, but I'm having fun when I play. I cleared Impaler's Catacomb, am working on getting a Claymore with higher bleed, and am enjoying popping in when I want to.

Skyrim: Still running my sword and board Nord character, and finished the Civil War Imperial questline, which I like way more than the Stormcloak run. Not fast travelling led to me discovering all sorts of fun stuff across the map. I found some weird stuff where I was somehow the Champion of Namira, despite failing the quest.

It's a fun, small indie game that's exactly what you'd expect of a three-in-a-row game. The difficulty can also ramp up substantially if you like a challenge.

Totally worth the $6 or whatever I paid for it. A brain-teaser/fast visual puzzle-solving type game.

Still plugging away at Lost Ark, only less so. Main is now ilvl1340 and that's likely where it'll stay for a good long time/forever. While I didn't "grind" to get him there, I just did the normal stuff that I can complete in about an hour (Chaos, Guardians, Events, Weekly on reset day), spend all the special event currencies on mats, try to hone, run out, log off. I'll probably only do that with bound mats and leave the roster bound mats alone so I have some for later.

Gained another level or two on my Shadownhunter, but haven't played much, and my Berserker remains a T1 "alt" doing dailies for some reason I can't explain. One of the dailies he's doing right now is for a ship and I don't even know why because I generally can't stand sailing in the first damn place.

My recent hours played is inflated because I saw the "Ride the waves" achievement pop up when I hit 10 and decided I needed to hit 10,000.

I still haven't made a Paladin and not sure if I will as enthusiasm for the game has waned. I do think the upcoming... uhh... Hammerboy (whatever his real class name may be) might be interesting when he drops in May, so when that happens I'll Powerpass him to 50 and give him a go. If he's not fun I'll likely uninstall then.
