I'm happy to see the gameplay is looking good now too, especially with the environments having a lot of verticality it seems vs just an open field of trees/buildings.

You're in for a treat, I've played most of the entries from 1-4 and they are some of the coolest mech games. They have always had a sense of "you'll adapt to me", but once the gameplay clicks it's so good. Then once you start to get the parts system and tuning it opens up so much depending on your playstyle. Want a tank treading the landscape with a bazooka on one shoulder, a minigun in one hand, and a laser sword on the other? Sure, go for it. Maybe you want a speedy bipedal glass cannon that will run in and nuke things with dual laser swords? No problem, figure it out. Maybe a spider leg style tank with a nuke on your back? Do you have a generator big enough to power the thing, then great! The background story stuff is dark, but I was maybe too young to really get into that, but as an older gamer I definitely appreciate it more.

I've been recommended his videos for a year or so now, and after watching a few and then seeing his channel, it's funny to see him pivot to Armored Core because he's "the From Software lore guy".

Since it looks like they changed the lock on system, that being one of the major hurdles for a beginner, and have added some of what they learned from the souls series to the game, I think this will be a great jumping on point. Just want to be clear that while the other games in the series are really fun, they're quite different from even the little we've seen on this one.

From what I've seen of this game, I think it's going to be fantastic. I'm hoping some Dark Souls design seeps into this game (which it looks to have from the boss and mini boss we saw).

What a fun looking game. I remember really enjoying Armored Core V on thos Xbox 360, and this looks like a fantastic modernized version.
