Battlebit Remastered is the most fun I've had with a new game all year

A little indie game made by three people is currently the 11th most played game on steam.
64k players playing at the time of writing, just 10k behind Activision's Modern Warfare 2.

Anyone else having a great time in BattleBit?

    It's absolutely fantastic. It's nearly everything I want from a Battlefield game, how incredibly embarrassing for Dice and EA that a 3 person dev team can make a more engaging "Battlefield" experience than they can with thousands of employees and millions of dollars.

    Not to mention it has more than 10x the players right now too.

    I pray that they finally start listening to the players and ditch all the garbage specialist mechanics and bring Battlefield back to it's core experience

    It looks interesting and reminds me of the old Ace of Spades voxel-based shooter and battlefield. Running Easy AntiCheat is a bit of a double-edged sword, EAC isn't the strongest anti-cheat in the world, for the longest time hackers could just boot into Linux and entirely bypass it making it just a resource drain that liked to have too much power without even having the true benefit of making a game hacker free, though to my knowledge this has been semi-resolved by making people run Proton

    Gameplay-wise, 254 players per server and fully destructible environments definitely sound like some fun chaos can be had

    If they switch up the anti-cheat I'll try it, but anything that needs kernel level access is a no go for me.

      unfortunately easy anti-cheat seems to be the de facto standard for games now =(

          I saw a lot of complaints in Linux gaming circles; though I doubt the Linux playerbase for the game was significant enough for them to change their minds.

            It would cut them out from all the Steam Deck users out there.

    I apologize in advance if I run into any of y'all while playing, because 1. I suck, and 2. I have voice chat disabled because of hearing problems and anxiety. I'm sorry ;_;

    Thanks for sharing. It feels a bit too fast-paced, but I'll likely give it a shot. Are there plans for some kind of "mutators" to adjust the gameplay on custom servers? I'd probably tweak it so...

    Yea it's pretty good. I'm a few levels from 50. My current build is Engineer going as fast as possible with a smg. So much fun flanking the enemy with a fast and dangerous dude.

    I just picked it up yesterday. Haven't played it yet though. So many games to play. Been spending a lot of time with Diablo IV and I just grabbed Trepang2 yesterday - which is basically a spiritual successor to FEAR.

    I definitely want to give BattleBit a go soon though. Heard nothing but good things.
